does anyone know where i can get a channgu (hourglass shaped) drum here in the u.k or through the internet. i have tried searching the net and all the drum shops in london but to no avail. i would be greatfull for any help you can offer.

They have to be either shipped to an Official dance studio or "smuggled" out. For That reason they can cost between 200 - 800 USD.

OP,

If all else were to fail I could run down the street (OK, I'd drive), buy one jang-gu and post it to you. Honestly, the shipping though would be a killer <they really aren't costly...maybe $150~$200 USD?>. Sorry, I've never priced one.

A korean dance instructor here in houston, I cant remember her name, but we called her Sung Sang Nym. Of course her engilsh is barely understandable so I might have misunderstood her. But I've looked in all the korean stores here in houston( houston has a large korean population) and none of them have one. The ONLY places I have found that have it are dance studios, and korean churches( that teach kids about their culture and language).

hi all, thx for your replys

i want a drum so i can play it, being an ex drummer and involved in korean ma, and having watched some awsome sahm al nori (sp?) i would really like to start playing one of these drums.

i have found a web site that would ship to the uk, and if any of you have changgo experiance or knowledge, could you please give me some advice on the drums on offer before i go ahead and order one, cheers.
