For some reason, when I try to enter the chat room, it always tells me to register first. I am registered. Is there something else that could be the problem?

does it have the little boxes for you to enter your name and password?? If so enter them and see if it works. If you already tryed or they boxes arent there, than im completely useless and youll have to wait for someone else to anwser :D GoodLuck hope to see you in chat soon:p

Hi Romelle20 I have checked and you are fully registered have you cleared your cache at all? What browser do you use? There realy should not be a problem with the chat, strange.

I confirmed my account, and I'm on Microsoft Explorer. My husband has no problem using chat here, but when I click on chat I get a blank white screen with "Please register before using the chat facility" in black letters.

Must be honest and say I'm not sure what is causing this but will look into it and get back to you with an answer.

Just adding myself to the list of people who can't get into chat. I'm definitely registered, but when I try, chat room tells me I need to be registered, and when I click "register", it tells me I'm already logged in.

Is the problem with the PC, or does it fail on all machines? Romelle20 - do you mean your husband can access the MAP chat room - who does he log in as?

I have a feeling it might be due to privacy settings in Internet Explorer 6 - Chat will not work if your Privacy Setting is set to high as it relies on cookies.

(go to Tools -> Internet Options and then click the Privacy tab)

If you want to keep your privacy setting on high, then you need to click on the 'Edit' button in Privacy settings and specifically add http://www.martialartsplanet.com as an 'allowed site' (click the allow button after typing the address).

After changing the privacy setting or allowing cookies from MAP, you should log off MAP and then log back on.

Can anyone experiencing this issue try this and let me know if it solves the problem.

Privacy setting was on medium, changed it to low, still doesn't work. I'll try the edit thing, see if that helps.

Maybe if Chat relies on Cookies, its due to some third party cookie blocking software?

Just a suggestion..

it must be a problem caused by an internet anti virus program u must shut it down for the chatroom to work....I think

I don't recommend shutting down your antivirus software. Its unlikely to be caused by that.

If you are getting a page simelar to :

User ID : (blank)
User Name : (blank)
Please register to use the chat facility

then it is not picking up your user details through cookies. (Otherwise the userid and username would be filled in.)

I'm going to suggest a few things you can try :

Make sure your security settings are not set too high (see earlier in this post).

Log out of the site by clicking on the 'log out' button. Log back in. If asked, tick to remember username and password.

If you have cookie blocking software, you might like to check the settings.

If none of the above works, I would look in your cookies directory for a martialartsplanet.com cookie and delete it, as it is possibly corrupt. Log back into the site and try again.

If none of the above works, then post here with username, version of windows you use & internet explorer version.

thanks

James
