I can't seem to get into the chat room when using my flatmates computer. The test page just keeps reloading over and over. It uses some weird AOL browser, is this the cause?
Cheers in Advance,
Colin

Yes - that's the cause.

You're not supposed to use AOL on a computer!

Those free AOL disks are meant to be used as coasters and free frisbie's, not actually installed.

It does this with Opera broswer too. Try getting a decent browser, like IE.
Oh hang on, did I just say that?!? :o

I can't get MAP chat to work on anything other than IE - Maybe Bill Gates is in league with the Admins :D

Its my flatmates girlfriends computer and the internet account is some weird AOL thing that her mum pays for.
I normally just throw the AoL discs at people and claim that its a 'Zanshin' excersice. ;)

Try a recent version of Mozilla or Netscape. We've had similar issues on MartialTalk with the chat software. For some reason (related to AOHells doing things 'their' way.) The AOL 'browser' breaks the software.
If you're useing IE, make sure its version 5 or greater.
Contrary to what AOL wants you to think, you can safely install different browsers to get the -full- internet experience. :)
Does your site use the same version of Chat as we do though?

phpmychat looks like it. Some differences in the code tweaks, but the core looks to be the same.
Its good software for the price. :) I just wish it had been maintained and kept up with the rest of the net evolution. I've been looking for something better for MT, but haven't had much luck so far.

phpmychat it is - and I agree with you about how it has not been developed for a while. The main code tweak is to link with the rest of the forum through a VB integration hack. Let me know if you find anything better and I will do likewise.
Opera 7.xx works on Chat now. You can get it at www.opera.com
