The salendang is a "scarf-like" item, as you can see in the clip...

Ron Balicki has a double DVD set of Sarong techniques out, probably worth a look, I'm waiting for my copy to arrive, I have a few of his others and they are very high quality

herman suwanda made a sarong video. although if you're looking for self-defense application, you really need a hands-on instructor.

Guru Ken Pannell has a DVD focusing on the use of flexible weapons (focusing mostly on the sarong). I believe his website is www.asianfightingarts.com

If you get a chance to check out the Sayoc Kali folk's "2003 Sama Sama" DVD there's a small section with Roberto Torres demonstrating some sarong techniques.
