Well, I'm 14 years old, and over the past couple of years, I've allowed myself to get a beer gut. I've finally decided that I'm sick of it, so I'll be working to get rid of it.
I've started eating better, I do 50 sit-ups each day, and I'm going to start doing chin-ups. Is there anything else I can be doing to work it out?

14? Is it a real beer belly? If so, I'd be more concerned about your liver.

puppy fat?

Good point. That's perfectly normal stuff isn't it?

I must be some sort of freak then, as I never got it.

Look at what you're eating first. I'd suggest taking down a log of what you eat every day. If it's not healthy, try to omit it from your diet, and if you still find yourself hungry without that unhealthy meal/snack, substitute it with something healthier.

Secondly, do some interval training or fartlek. Fartlek and Interval training are the same concept, but fartlek mixes it up. For an example of fartlek:

Sprint all out for 3 seconds
Walk for 10 seconds
Sprint all out for 15 seconds
Jog for 4 seconds
Walk for 12 seconds
Etc.

Interval training:
Sprint 15 seconds
rest 40 seconds
Sprint 15 seconds
rest 40 seconds
Etc.

Those should help with the "cardio".

Doing endless situps will do nothing for you. It will only make you better at situps, and will just make the abdominals last longer in situps, and even still, situps work the hip flexor to a large extent, and do not isolate the abdominals.

But seeing as how you're 14, I wouldn't worry about it too much now. If you have access to weights, that's another way to lose some weight, and replace it with muscle, with a program like EDT (what I happen to be using to get my extra flubber off from my hiatus from weights due to surgery). And being in your teens certainly helps, as your testosterone will sky rocket, which I think all them hormones help to promote fat loss as well. But remember, you need to eat properly.

I've definately changed my eating habbits.
Thanks for the routine tips. I'll try some of them. I just started on lifting weights about a week ago. I'm taking it easy with them, though.

Cardio work.... running, jogging, sprinting, walking, skipping... That should help you.

EDIT: Oh, and about lifting weights... I'm not exactly the most knowledgable weightlifter there is, but you shouldn't start weightlifting until you reach age 16.

False. You can, and it's fine even at younger ages, it's just not advisable to go near your max at younger ages. It's perfectly fine to use 10RMs and stuff but only do like, 6 reps with it for an example.:) I'm 16 btw, and have lifted on and off since summer before freshman year...so since I was 14...:D I'm perfectly fine!

Remember that the search funtion on MAP is a great resource for information on lifting and training in general. Also make sure you check out some stuff from Adam's Ultimate Guide to Training Resources!

I think we might all be overthinking this just a tad.

...I do 50 sit-ups each day, and I'm going to start doing chin-ups. Is there anything else I can be doing to work it out?
First, congrats on deciding to do Chins. They're commonly overlooked by a bunch of people. 50 Sit-ups in a row isn't going to make you much stronger, or give you better abs. I'd rather see you do something like 2 different exercises, each one for fewer reps.

With that said, buddy, go be active. Practice your martial arts a little more. Play soccer, basketball, kickball, dodgeball, or handball. Ask your folks for a new skateboard or a pair of Rollerblades. Starting some smart weight-training wouldn't be a bad idea either. Eat "good" food (meats, fruits, veggies), move your body a little more, and don't stress too much about it.
