Hi,
Im going to be fighting in my first kickboxing tournament this March.
My instructor is going to be pushing me towards that. His only recommendation, thus far has been to run, and run, and run.
I have a family, work two jobs, train with weights, as well as doing the kickboxing classes at his school.
Im thirty seven and am in bad shape right now. Im better than most Ive seen, but I want to be at a higher level before the tournament.
Right now, I think I can commit, three days to kickboxing training for one hour each day. I usually hit the gym about four days a week, so im going to use the treadmill there every time Im in. Im doing about twenty five minutes of interval type running on there now, before I push weights. I work the bag for about fifteen minutes after weights.
Im going to get on a low carb/high protein diet for the next two months. I think I can get down to about two hundred, from the two twenty I am now.
Anyone having experience with pre fight preparation, please, by all means, speak up!! :D

If you can i wouldnt work the heavy bag right after doing weights. I would do it before or on a separate day as your body will be fresh as well as your strikes. Im no training expert though
