Hey all.

I really want to kick off my reading and get a library going. Main reasons are that I can't get enough info, and I really want to build up my knowlage base.

I want to start at the top, so what you think is a must have book on MAs in general?

It would be good to get a lot of opinions on this, so what do you think?

It doesn't matter what length, difficulty, style etc. it is, just aslong as it's realated to MA in any way.

tah.

oh just remembered an essential to karate.
-"karate" authors hidetaka nishiyama & richard c. brown
its a book on shotokan and a limited edition youll be lucky if you find one they stopped selling in like late 70s early 80s
oddly enough i found it in my garage. even if you dont do shotokan it gives you a great schedule and training methods.
overall its a perfect martial arts book.
ok thats it.

I like Watch my Back by Geoff Thompson. Not strictly what I would call a core MA text, but I think every traditional martial artist should read it, and take in what he says about how traditional arts transferring to real fighting. I'm about halfway through it, and its rapidly changed my outlook on fighting and martial arts.
