tell us what you think about the MAP. Be honest. This is how we know what we need to do to make it better for you.

Its good I like it better than the other MA forums I have found. Could use some minor things. But overall its good. the people on it make it what it is though. Thats thing the thing I hate about the other forums I have seen. Some of the people are dumb and they have been there awhile so they obviously dont boot the trolls. Like here trolls dont last long. well thats all

Well to be honest it's much better than most of the forums I have come across, I was worried a bit b'fore when the trolls came flooding in but things seem to be back under line now :D

well i made this poll but i will answer it as well, I love this site. I think that it has the best people from all over the world. I can see this site being bigger than Jack ever thought it would be.

I love it, it's probably tripled the time I spend on the net, if not more :D. It's definietly the people on here that make it what it is. Go MAP :D

Excellent site.
Great job guys
For an improvement I would Like to see video clips of techniques in the magazine section. I believed this was discussed some time ago but never came about.

I use MAP daily, it is a source of info' for everything martial arts & more. I like the way it's moderated, i like the fact there are intelligent people posting, i like that most of 'em are open minded about MA's & respect - for the most part - different arts from their own.
The journal is pretty new to the forum but has become important to a lot of members as an insight into more personal thoughts & activities.
The magazine section is inspiring with excellent articles from respected members of MAP!
And the rest is just great too!
In the future i would like to see more techniques with discriptions & photo's from other arts in the technical section.

By far one of the best martial arts forums.
Because of the people and the attitude.
It has grown A LOT since I joined. Then it was a very small forum with barely 100 members. Now it seems it grows by more then 100 a month.

It's ok, but you have posted 5 235 times as of me writing this comment. Admit it Yoda, you're obssessed to the point of it becoming a health risk. :D.
*Realises she's saying this to Yoda, the big guy on MAP, and that she has to train an awful lot harder to remain alive*

My name is David and I am a MAPaholic. I have stayed up all night on MAP twice and my post count is way over what it should be for the amount of time I've been here. What was that you were saying about trolls not lasting long?

MAP is by far the best MA forum i've encountered! For 1 there are actually a diverse amount of people on here! 2 People aren't so full of themselves! discussions here don't turn out to one of those "I HAVE BIGGER BALLS THAN YOU" type of discussions. It's the most non-violent verbal MA forum. There was one forum i came upon where it's pretty much a verbal fight in every discussion thread there was...things like "that's wrong you idiot moron!! or i'll kick anyone's ass who practices your art!"

Now that sounds like a forum Hakko-ryu
Next step cyber tournements everyone wearing one of those suits from the lawnmower man going at it now that would prove that someones opinion was a fact ..wouldnt it?

:( Not fair
I forgot about that. What's the point of trying to provoke someone if they're not around to be provoked. He didn't respond the first time I put that in, so I thought I'd have another go, and he'd not here to see i t:(
Now what else can we say while he's away:Angel:

Thank's Zamfoo.
We're all highly trained in Troll Jitsu here. :D
I think what's good is encouraging people to be themselves, rather than who they think they should be.
Lot of open hearted humanity round here. Long may it continue.

its what i have always wanted, people from every style trading ideas and getting along... getting alo....
HEY WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT YOU IDIOT,.. with your little 'gi' and your belts, MEN WEAR SASHES AND SILK PAJAMAS.....
(by the way this is a joke, I love the site, there is nothing wrong with a gi or belt nor do i have a problem with sashes and silk pajamas, i wear the last two, you are not an idiot and i was just making fun of people who get all big headed about their own style)
Yeah when i first found this site i thought it was too good to be true. really good job. read my journal. eat at joes. the end.

the following is a thread created by a mod on another site i visited when map was down today
Many of us study and train with various traditional weapons such as the katana or bokken, staff, jo staff, sai, pole arms, nun chaku, etc. But how many of you train with, well.... anything? For example, sometimes I teach self-defense for women and I often have a session on using a silk scarf. Basically the principle I try to convey is anything can be a weapon and thus learn to use every day items in YOUR life and YOUR regular routines.

... theme song from Cheers plays in background of thread
"Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name."

People here are more mature, it might be because of the average age group we have here. MAP got some really respectful martial artist, we dont bash at each other much which is good.

It's very nice.
MA forums are generally mutch alike , the difference i found in MAP is that posters respect eatchother.
I read some forums wich i don't post for that reason , cause one of two answers is the usual ST... you know.
