My girlfriend has just joined the gym and is looking for a good work out.

You guys have helped me so much with mine, i have looked on the web but here is so much information it's impossible to filter it all.

She is looking to lose weight and cut up, she currently weights ??? she is 5.9.

All in all she has quite a nice body but has a little bit of flab around the mid section that she wants to get rid of and tone the rest of her body.

I understand that most of this comes to diet, at the moment she is doing 15mins on the cross trainers, 20 mins on the bike and some weight exercises as instructed by one of the staff members at the gym.

I have to be honest but the gym instructor is not the greatest, he told me that 21's is the best dam execise you can do!!! I did laugh

Long post so i shall recap:

She needs a programe for 3 days a week that will help cut fat and build muscle.

Cheers :D

Step One - Take a gander over at the Girl Power thread. (http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33179) It should be good for inspiration, motivation, and reassurance that she can pick up heavy things and not turn into a dude.

Step Two - Give this routine (http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=459789) consideration. It's a very-not-too-bad introduction routine for getting gals into lifting weights, especially if she's never touched a weight before.

Step Three - Don't ever post your girlfriend's weight on an internet site. You dope. :p

I hope she's successful with the exercise program. 3, 15 minute exercises per a time there is good.
