Hi,

Its my first post, so go easy on me...

I am interested in taking beginners lessons in Kung Fu. I started taking a few lessons (maybe 4 or 5) in Lau Gar about 5 years ago but was traveling from Edinburgh to Stirling which was too far.

If there are any classes in Edinburgh that would be ideal.

I'd like to start from the beginning again as it's been so long since I was taking part and it only lasted a very short time, it was more an introduction than anything else, but I really enjoyed it.

I'm quite keen on a style that will not purely enable me to dislocate every joint in someone's body or to break every bone in my own! I am looking for a style that will give me more confidence, will allow me to have good self-defence abilities and will teach me a bit about how to live a better lifestyle. I really liked Lau Gar so if that was available or something similar that would be great. I saw a style called "Wing Chun" that looked quite good too.

Does anyone know anywhere in Edinburgh where I can do Kung Fu?

Kind regards,
Gordon.

Hi Gordon,
Have you thought about Tai Chi Chuan,In terms of 'leading a better lifestyle' Tai Chi may be the answer.
Also available is the self defence martial side that includes stamina training and exercises to train the body to move in relaxed manner under pressure.

see http://cockerel.cjb.net

Good Luck,

Wutan.
