I have read them on and of for years, just now I am reading and enjoying "The Skies of Pern" I also recently read "Dragonsblood" by her son Todd. I Also recomend the Crystal Singer books and The Ship who books as pure Sci Fi rather than Sci Fi crossover like the Dragon books.

I used to read them when I was at school. They were excellent, but I think you had to stick with them (rather than just read one) for it to have its full effect on you

I haven't read her Dragon series but I have read her Acorna series which she wrote in conjunction with Margaret Ball and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough. It's enjoyable reading but nothing ground-breaking or revelatory.

I love all her books but the Pern and the Crystal Singer books are my favourites!

Read them as a teenager. The early ones are still good, but her later output and collaborations have been quite poor. I gave up on the Acorna series.

I particularly hate the appearance of a character called Johnny Green/Jonagren or variant thereof in every series she writes.
