I am in an internet cafe in Seoul and thought I would put a quick post on here to say hello. It has been a great trip, going home tomorrow.
The tournament and especially the demo were awesome. Saw some great stuff and have a few bruises to show for it.
Let me know what you want to know about it and I will fill you in!

At the airport now with nothing to do, my bag is a bit heavier on the way back as I got a few medals ;)
I got gold in forms, silver in sparring (nearly got my head taken off!), bronzes in techniques and sword.
Demo was awesome, it was a mixture of us, the Koreans and the USA guys. Lots of different stuff to watch. Would recommend the DVD to anyone when it comes out even if it's just to see me land on my face during the falling demo (very embarrassing!).
Will write more and post pics and clips when I get back
P.S. Davefly, yeah I will be at Birmingham with my normal crew, competing as well. I presume I have loads of tournament entry forms in my letterbox to enter in

It was the demo that never ends ;). One of the singers was quite late.
The good news was that we got to see a lot more. KJN and YKJN did their sword sparring routine as part of the stall for time.
I saw the toss a board / spin kick it break - was that AirNick? Unfortunately I didn't get pictures or video of any of the breaks. I did get a lot of others though.
One of the Korean masters and his team did an archery demo. Spear-sparring. I think it was Master Lee who did Jung Geum Hyung and then continued into something I had *never* seen before.
I'd like to hear more about the demo. Who did what, etc...

It was all really manic 'backstage' when the singer didn't turn up, I had to make up a nak bub routine at the last minute which turned out very messy! Yeah, that was me doing the throw break, missed it first time dammit!

Wow! What a demo! I want to see one like that. The master's demos at regular tournaments aren't bad, but they're NOTHING like that!

I can't think of any way anyone would have noticed me, I didn't stand out a whole lot to the group. But my hubby decided to rescue Emerald KSN at the second "formal"... and for the rest of the trip, the Korean masters were pointing him out, and either doing the hand motions or saying "YMCA".
SBN Terry tells us it's likely to follow him to KJN and beyond, even if we don't make it back to Korea for 20 years.

Yeah-especially considering I hadn't practiced it at all- As Ember said, SBN told me that would now be following me until I'm KJN. But in hindsight, I probably would have done that again-it was a lot of fun, and somehow i don't believe that being known to the Korean Masters rather than being just another face is a bad thing.
