Welcome! I just started a few weeks ago and it's a lot of fun. Although I am quite sore after each session....

Have fun!

I have been thinking about going into Hapkido alot latly.Seems like the logical place to go from where I am at.I just can't see the point in advancing in tkd at this point,I have been doing tkd for almost 10 years now. While the material(tkd) I have I will train into old age,I think it may be time for a change, fresh start.

First of all welcome to MAP and I hope you enjoy Hapkido and Tae kwon do.

It certainly is possible to lose weight while training in Hapkido. There are many factors to consider. How is the class run? Is there a warm-up with aerobic type activity? What was your activity level like up until now?

Do you plan on changing your eating habits? Many people swear by counting calories, some say eliminate carbs, and some say eat 5 or 6 small meals a day. You should do the research and figure out what is best for you. I think we all know what is good for us and what is not. If you're going to be working out that much I would say increase your intake of complex carbohydrates. But, like I said you should do your own research.
