I'm a big martial artist and a big gamer, so it's no wonder that I really like fighting games. I used to love tekken tag tournament back in the day, but then i tried out DOA2 for DC and was amazed and hooked. Before then, I thought that tekken was the only good game around, but DOA turned out to be far superior in every category, despite the constant allegations that the game is only popular because of the hot babes in it.... but look around. Almost every fighting game has hot women fighters in it! Now that that is out of the way, I was just wondering if anybody else plays DOA3, because I have been playing this game at least twice a week for the last year and a half. I'm the bomb with Hitomi and Ein. Their basic Karate style is very similar to Tang Soo Do, so I was able to adapt extremely well. I am getting a little bored though. I always beat my friends and I still win on the hardest difficulty more often than not, so I find myself playing survival mode over and over. Maybe i should compete in a tournament or something. Oh well, anybody else here as into this game as i am?

I was into it, but now I like Tao Feng. My roommate and I would play it for hours... we have a runing joke now, when we are watcing MA movies... "Limb Damage!"

I think the fighting system (not the characters, the things you as player have to do) is much better... a button for each arm and leg. Whereas DAO3 was 1 button for punch, 1 for kick, one for hold, one for block... teh chars in tao Feng are awesome, styles are very unique to each, and very realistic. Very little use of "magic powers" ala MK.

I'm trying to develop a PBeM* martial arts game based on XML definitions of blocks / strikes / combos / footwork... some kind of algorithm that evaluates each players' latest move...

when SC2 comes out on xbox i will probably dump my girlfriend, quit my job, and lock my teenagers out of the house.

I better reconsider the g/f thing tho, she can jump-side-kick me to the face...

I tried tao feng and i thought it was decent. maybe like an 8.5 or something, not a classic tho. But yea, SC2 is gonna be the bomb, especially on xbox. WE GOT SPAWN!!!

You know, I bought DOA3 thinking the game would be great and answer some of the unanswered questions from DOA2. Guess what. WRONG! It just got even weirder! Come on when will they answer at least some basic questions from number 2? In number 8? The game play was great, as were the graphics, but, it just didn't hold my attention. So, I traded it for money towards Ghost Recon, best thing I've ever done, I still play GR over and over and over. Want a good game get GR. By the way, Tao Feng is pretty good, but not on the level as DOA3, gameplay wise or graphics.

unanswered questions? there's a plot? and you care about it hahaha DOA3 was a great launch title for the xbox but it is really pretty shallow (story or depth of controls).

I much prefer T.F's fighting controls becasue I have control over what the fighter will do - lead leg, rear leg, lead arm, front arm, block jump, crouch etc. In DOA3 it is much less precise - one button for kick, one for punch, one for grab, one for block.

DOA3 has a couple of environments that are better than the TF but mostly they are equal.

The female models are just as voluptuous in each game, but the clothing in TF gets ripped off.

In TF the taunts are funnier and the special moves cooler. That's pretty subjective criteria but...

so anyway that's whay I prefer TF 10 to 1 over DOA3.

Soul Caliber 2 is OK but it is not the most amazing fighting game ever. I'm still tryng to figure out all teh blokc/parry/guard impact moves, it's complicated and interesting.

I'm unlocing new featrues like every 15 minutes. Which is BORING! Yes it is boring. I can't explore all teh original features and they are adding more. Mistly they are just dumb : for example one new feature was, in practice mode, IO can now choose which weapon and difficulty elvel of the opponent! oooooo! Also I have unlocked 5 new fighters to use. BIG DEAL! it came with 25 freakin fighters anyway so what's a few more... I can't remember them anyway. And, not as much T&A as DOA3 :/

So I feel a little ripped off after all the "best game ever" hype and paying 50$. However I think this game will totally enslave Japenese boys age 12-15 by the millions.

I loved DOA2 when I used to play on the DC. The game play is really cool my fave characters were all of the girl characters :D. it was a goal of mine to master all of them. The counter was a bit unbalanced though because it did so much damage.

I like original Ein better. If you unlock him you can use him in every mode but story mode. And if drooling is what you're after, then pick up DOA Xtreme beach volleyball. I did, and it's a fun game and mysteriously addicting haha.
