Does anyone have a list of the sets and spin numbers for each of the spins? I've been through most all of the Juhl Bong curriculum (just haven't learned a form if there is one). I just don't remember what set and spin number goes with each spin.

It's not published in any textbook b/c Jool Bong is not a traditional Korean weapon. I think there is a form at the PSBN level.
My memory on these is pretty bad, and I think I only know up to set 5, so I would much appreciate corrections from the upperbelts!
Set 1
#1 forward spin
#2 backward spin
#3 downward figure 8
#4 upward figure 8
After that, I usually need reminding. I think set 2 is the transfers:
#1 staff spinning 12b
#2 over the shoulder across the back
#3 headbanger
#4 the quick flick
and set 3 is rebounds.
#1 shoulder
#2 body
#3 thigh.
#4 The 10-step rebounds
Set 4 plumflower.
Set 5 - fancier transfers, with setup
#1 neck
#2 body
#3 between the legs
#4 1-3 in sequence

Thanks Ember. I've been meaning to brush up on my jool bohng as well.
And yes, there is definitely a jool bohng form. I don't know what level it is taught at, but it definitely exists, because there were rumors going around that we were going to learn it at the super seminar last June. We didn't :(, but not because it doesn't exist.

I think we learned it a little differently. Sets 1 through 4 I'm pretty sure were the same. After that, though, I think Set 5 was inverted spins, 6 was chain transfers, 7 I think was the fancy transfers you mentioned, then there was an 8th set I can't remember. Then after that we went into double Juhl Bong.

hmm, do you guys not do any of the chain transfers that get you into inverted grabs?

When I learned the Juhl Bong techniques, I learned 15 of them. I haven't touched my juhl bong much since white belt, so my memory isn't that good, but I'm almost positive there were 15 spins - because I remember Sa Bum Nim saying it was the same number as ki bohn soo (and no, I'm not thinking of bong doligi).

Hmm, I wonder where my instructor got the rest of the stuff we learned. I'll see about getting ahold of a video camera and posting what I'm talking about.

It might have been the way he grouped things into A and B that ended gave him the number 15, because looking at your list, I don't see anything that I don't remember doing. But like I said, I haven't done much with the juhl bong lately, so I can't remember how the techniques were grouped or ordered.
The ones I remember are
Spinning forwards/backwards
Figure eight down and up
Plum flower
Over the shoulder and under the arm
Under the arm and over the shoulder
Over the shoulder and behind the back
Around the neck
Around the back horizontally (I have a hard time with this one)
One handed spinning horizontally at the waist
One handed spinning vertically at the shoulders
Flicking out at the armpit
Under the groin
Various rebound stuff that I don't remember
Various combos that I don't remember

I'm not sure what chain reverseral is. We don't pracitice jul-bong at all. I learned the form during the seminar in 2000 and I haven't practiced it since. My instructor isn't to big on the Jul-bong! But that was the list that my instructor emailed us shorty after the workshop a couple of years ago. Things may have changed since then and they may be grouped differently now. Sorry if my list isn't up to date. My set seems to be the same as EMBERKSW posted. so it might just be correct! :o

I'm not sure what chain reverseral is.
I think he's referring to two spins - one is horizontally at the waist, one is vertically, from the shoulder to the waist. You flip the juhl bong over, letting go of one end and grabbing the other, only using one hand, as it rotates either left to right or up and down.
Actually, I just remembered, there's another one like that where you make a figure eight. That was probably my favorite spin.
We don't pracitice jul-bong at all. I learned the form during the seminar in 2000 and I haven't practiced it since.
That's prettty much the same for me. I learned Juhl bong in a clinic as a white belt (that we put on every year). I practiced about 10 of the spins obsessively for a few months and then never touched it again.

That's about what I was thinking :)
A couple of minor differences...
For Set 5 #3, I've never seen the spins to the side, just the figure 8 in front then between the legs.
For Set 5 #4, we do:
over the head, around the neck, pass behind the back
over the head, around the body, pass behind the back
figure 8 in front, between the legs (jool bong now in other hand)
Repeat with other hand.
My set seems to be the same as EMBERKSW posted. so it might just be correct! :o

Ok, I talked to my KJN tonight and asked if he had heard of the additional stuff that we did at my previous school. He had seen what I was talking about, but not in Kuk Sool. So I'm guessing my previous instructor learned some additional stuff from somewhere else and included it.
These included a set that was just like set 1 only inverted (meaning the chain hangs out the bottom of your hand, but your hand is in the same location relative to the chain)
so do your forward, backward, figure 8 up, and figure 8 down with the palm of your hand facing down and the chain coming out from the pinky side of your hand. That's the set of inverted spins we learned.
Next we learned a set of chain transfers to get into the inverted position. The first was the figure 8. When your coming up after the initial down stroke you let go of the juhl bong and let the chain wrap around your hand so that you grab the other stick in an inverted grip. Then you keep going in the figure 8 bringing it back over your hand from the other side into a traditional grip again (i know this is probably making no sense).
The others involved similar chain transfers by bouncing off the should, and bouncing off the waiste. Then we also had a plumbflower with the figure 8 chain transfer. There's more, but they're tough to explain. I'll try to post a video if I can ahold of a camera to make things more clear.
All the chain transfers were part of a second lesson he did. We had to learn everything you guys are talking about first. After we passed the first lesson, we could learn the chain transfers and some more advance passes in a second class later in the year. Then after passing through that we got a third on double juhl-bong which is a lot of fun without much practicality (but honestly there isn't much practicality to them anyway). Double is really, really hard though. I've hit myself in all kinds of uncomfortable places before becoming somewhat proficient. However, it's been a while so I'll probably be hitting myself again. :D

KSW_PAUL, if you enjoy hitting yourself with the double Jul Bong's then I'm sure you'll like the double Jul Bong form. I have not seen anyone do it in a long time, so I don't know whether it is still being taught.

I think I saw it at the Texas Tournament demo.

ah, it's starting to come together now. I bet my old instructor Ben PSBN got the additional stuff from Tim SBN (since Tim was his instructor).

Jul Bongers
Master Barry Harmon organized all the Jul Bong techniques into sets with Kuk Sa Nims permission. He also teaches the single and double Jul Bong forms.
Some years he taught Jul Bong on the seminar tour.

Clarification
Master Harmon only taught the spinning techniques on seminar tour. The single and double jewel bong hyungs are for Black Belt and up.
