Hi everyone,
I am in To-Shin Do martial arts which comes from Ninjutsu.
Today we trained with this weapon and I can't remember the name of it. Can you help me out?
Its a 15 ft rope and on one end is a steel weighted circle
On the other end is a blade that looks a little like a tanto knife and a scicle stuck together.
thanks!

kyoketsu shoge
Fun isn't it? I made a practice one out of an old plastic cutting board, parachute cord and a rubber ring.

thanks! :D
It was driving me crazy because I just got home from training, lol.
yeah it was really fun! I've never even heard of one before tonight. But I did pretty well. I'd love to do more so maybe I'll make a practice one too!

I found the best material for practice weapons is polyboard, the plastic cutting boards. Find one about 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick and cut your blade and handle out as one piece, then 2 more pieces of handle to glue to both sides giving you a nice thick grip. I had to screw the handle halves to the shaft, the glue wasn't strong enough. Use and jig saw to cut the board then a sharp metal edge (a knife or box cutter) to de-burr the the edges.
