Just got to thinking...

What different types of services/inclusions does your club offer to members?

Discounted Gi/clothing?
Record of grading?
Insurance?
Are any of you given the option to pay for classes in advance and get a discount?
How much do you pay for classes (if I may be so bold)?
How long are your classes?
If you opt to go to more than 2 classes a week is there discounts?

If you feel you do not get 'value for money' at this time, what, if it was possible, would you do to make your training more 'value for money'?

As far as my club goes...

Discounted Gi/clothing?
Yes, about £20 for a Gi, or £30 for a posh embroided one. We get WUKO mitts and bitz protectors cheaper too

Record of grading?
We get a nice certificate in the colour of the belt we graded for, and a stamp and signiture on the license

Insurance?
Yeah, it comes with the licsence fee, but the payout levels are abysmal, especially considering the dangers of knockdown fighting.

Are any of you given the option to pay for classes in advance and get a discount?
We can pay monthly, but don't get a discount for it. So far no-one pays monthly in case we miss a class

How much do you pay for classes (if I may be so bold)?
£1.50 for seniors, £1 for juniors, black belts free (sods!)

How long are your classes?
2 - 2 and a half hours, twice a week.

If you opt to go to more than 2 classes a week is there discounts?
Nope, there isn't more than 2 classes at the moment. We did have 3 till we moved dojos :(

I think its great value for money, we don't pay much, get trained well, and have a brand new dojo to practise in. We could do with some new equipment though, such as punchbags/wall mounted mariwaka etc but thats hardly a big problem

Discounted Gi/clothing? Nope

Record of grading? Yep, held centrally and certificates are provided

Insurance? Included in our license fees

Are any of you given the option to pay for classes in advance and get a discount? Nope

How much do you pay for classes (if I may be so bold)? £35 a month for as many classes in as many places as anyone could care for (you can go to any Choi school)

How long are your classes? An hour and a half, but four of them are double classes, so those are three hours apiece.

If you opt to go to more than 2 classes a week is there discounts? Nope, no extra charge whatsoever.

Also we get access to the Choi website which has our curriculum techniques, patterns, combinations, drills and so on in the users' area.

I can't say from a student point of view any longer but i can tell you I beleive that the people in my schools get thier moneys worth.
3 classes per week,
children have a one hour class
adults get an hour and half
certificates , ofcourse!
Can be internationally registered,
pizza party once a month for the kids
they can bring friends once a month
Huge Tramploline, 40 foot tumble track
and a rope swing.
Padded floors and hard floors with almost new equipment. I guess I could buy some newer stuff but I've had my Gi since 1983, not givinh that up it is seriously sown together at the sleeves by 40lb. fishing line! Thats the only thing that keeps it from tearing.
I pay the insurance and I charge $65.00 a month.
