Hello all is there any possible info or patterns on the web for
making the shinobi shozoko? All too often, the so called suits you
buy in the catalog of supplies labled "authentic ninja suit" is
totaly inacurate. The suit (I refuse to call it shinobi shozoko)
because it's a joke and cheaply made, not even the right color.
Black sticks out like a soar thumb,as far as blending in the night
goes.Dark blue, grey, brown, green, sometimes hues of red would
suffice.Any one out here have info on patterns of the shinobi
or Iga Bakama,Tekko wraps,obi,Jika tabi,Waragi,and other true
crucial components of the guise that made up the uniform for
the shinobi mono.Any info would be appreciated deeply.Thank you
for any help.

red was used more for the psychological effects it has on ones minds, not as a camoflauge. red naturally brings about to emotions in the human mind, fear as it is the color of blood, and anger, for the same reason.

well actually in the darkness red can blend pretty well. Also it kinda hid if the person with bleeding. As for a real suit, i have no clue where to get one.

u know black isnt so bad its good for hiding ur face cuz u want it to blend with the shadow. what ive found that works really well is just a regular woodland BDU(battle dress uniform)
I saw on a site that they sell shinobi shozoko in woodland pattern.
But take this from a guy that has studied the military for the better part of his life, a bdu will do fine no need for any expenceive stuff just the BDU and a hood of some sort (i use a sniper vail $5)
look at it this way, pleanty of pockets, blends perfectly, inexpensive
one thing u might want to do tho is get one that fits tightly and tie parts of it off cuz it tends to be noisy.
And if u dont want to do that then http://www.martialartssupermarket.com/index.cfm?action=showProd&subid=111 copy and paste this

If u can get ur hands on the pixilated BDU patteren that works the best, but good luck with that:D
Happy hunting

I've got a uniform like that, but it doesnt have pockets or anything.. its very hard to find an authentic uniform so i just adjusted alot of it putting pockets etc on it. you could probably go to a tailor and get them to do it for you cheaply. good luck :woo:

Do a search for traditional kabuki prope handlers outfits or some such. Since these were a starting point for the shozuku.

I have made many for myself. But are very time consuming. I like the fuma ryu style of flaired leggings vs the straight legged Karate style of hakama. Big thighs need room to move.

Karate hakama?

I don't beleive they wear hakama in karate, they wear pants.

do-gi in karate is correct, but hakama was a loose reference to pants, leggings, etc. (hakama = Japanese split skirt/leggings) and there particular shape. Do gi pants are usually straight from hip to floor vs puffed out at the hip to knee like a set of riding britches.

Shinobi Shozuku is made up of Uagi, hakama, teko, kyhan, tabi, waragi, forgot name of hood/sash.

i just bought a light weight dark shirt same for pants and used strips of fabric for the hachimaki, but if youre going for authenticity too, youll probably have to make one

True ninjas never had a set uniform. the would have to change the color every time that they did something new. The best way to get a "ninja uniform" is to look at your surroundings and pick the best clothing that blends with them. Remember a ninja uses his suroundings and his mind to over come opponents not just his uniform.

yeah Tsing Tao i totally agree with you, even though this is a movie this is so far the most accurate ninja movie i have seen, please don't comment i know its a movie just talkin about the costumes not the story, any way on this one part in the movie this clan is sent to kill this guy. Well they have to go on a train. At first your thinking...black....on a train.....in broad daylight.....stupid...*click*...but wait..the ninjas costumes were actually a very good light khaki color and it blended in very well with the white leather seats on the japanese bullet trains. But thats just one part i saw that they did make very well.
