Ok, I have a dirty little secret. I like kung fu movies. By like I mean Ill watch them anytime, anywhere. I especially like the old crappy ones. Give me a room full of ninjas flying around a room while shooting laser beams out their eyes and Im a happy man.
When you consider that im a 35 yr old software engineer, this only a little better then being addicted to pornography. Maybe worse. My tai chi instructor just shakes his head sadly.
Anyway I decided to admit my problem tonite because Im sitting here at 2am watching my new DvD collection (Legends of Kung Fu. 10 movies starring people like Bruce Li, Sonny CHiba, Bolo Yeung "and many more!".) and wondering where Im going to hide it when Im done.
Anyone else similarily addicted? Maybe we can start a support group.:D

Twin Warriors is a new one but still good. I like Iron Monkey (mainly because its a Quentin Tarrentino movie) But the movie marital arts are pretty good.
If only thindgs worked that way in reality

Anyone seen "Seven Samurai"? its old, in black & white, and Japanese. Not really a Kung-Fu movie so to speak but its still good in the old movie charm kind of way. It is also an accurate of the time of the golden age of samurai, or so I've heard. I recommend it to any MAPer

Seven Samurai is one of the all time classic movies ever, made by world-renowned Filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, WORLD RENOWNED...
Sacrilege!!!!
Not really to be mentioned in the same breath as 'Death Nipple Killers Two', or 'Shaolin Pigeon vs Tadpole Five'.
Sorry being pedantic, but am Horrified that the you don't know the magnitude of Kurosawas rep...He made many great movies, other Martial orientated ones by him would be:
Sugata Sanshiro
Rashomon
The Hidden Fortress
Sanjuro
Yojimbo
Throne of Blood
Ran
Kagemusha
etcetcetc.
Anyway I like Martial Arts movies too, in fact I review loads.
Some of my faves:
Pedicab Driver-Samo Hung
Dragons Claws
Chinese Boxer
Boxer From Shantung 1 and 2
It's a horrible addiction, but i'm taking medication for it and hope to be well soon.

You're with your own kind now! :D
Can't beat the old cheesy stuff, comedy wise you just can't beat it. Although I think its lost on non MA people.
Best MA film for me it probably Jet Li's Fist of Legend, then maybe crouching tiger......
Any one seen the Babycart movies?

My favorite was Shaw Bros Hong Kong stuff, then for a while I was into the more modern stuff (Jet Li etc) but now, my new and all-time favorites... Zatoichi the Blind Swordsmen! there must be 20 of these, every week a different movie on IFC...
He's blind, he's yakuza, he's a masseur... nobody can beat him with a sword!
