Hi

The fact you know there is no 'best' MA is good. I personally think that if you enjoy learning Wado-Ryu karate I would stick with it and do the best to ignore the 'negative' comments of your friends! I study TKD and enjoy it, that's the main thing as there is no point in someone 'pushing' you to to a certain MA and drop the other (hence why I didnt reply with "Do TKD now!" :D). Someone else studying Kung Fu was saying "I don't like TKD, its crap" etc etc, which shows regardless what MA you study someone else will be likely to disagree with you! Of course you could always try TKD and do a little cross training, and if you do find TKD is 'better' for you then maybe consider doing both! As for being better to train in that is not dependant in the art itself, as has been said before, it is dependant on the instructor of the art! :)

Hope that helps.

its taken me some time to find a style that i really like and no matter what others may think of it i am not going to give it up!

It is unfortunately nature of the beast that people will always think that what they do is better than everyone else!

It is the same with everything my ps2 is better than your xbox, my mobile is a better one than yours!

dont let others decide for you if you are enjoying what you are doing then stick at that!

Take it easy.

Tell them not to judge your style unless they train in it for a period of time! And likewise you won't comment on theirs.

I don't think there's a huge amount of difference in practicality between TKD and Wado. If you enjoy it that's the most important thing.

If you want a really good style for realistic self defence there are much better styles than either karate or TKD out there.

Do what you enjoy!

i would say neither is better. though i train TKD but also sport kartae and others. train what is best for your body type and personal style. own what you do. dont be a robot. perhaps try a little cross training and decide for your self
