About a week ago I saw a pack of about 10/12 youths attack an adult at a shopping centre. They ranged from 11-18 by the looks of them. Once on the ground they kicked him like a dog.It was very very ugly. Luckily the man wasnt seriously hurt - but he could have been. No doubt these kids will do it again. Dempsey once was quoted for saying that he feared being pushed to the ground and kicked to the head more than any boxing round. Anyway I am waffling - returning to the point: our system trains prone defenses involving ankle throws, scissors and also some techniques from your knees; we do a little bit of multiple defense against 2 people attacking at the same time from a standing position - what could be done I wonder against the situation where you find yourself being kicked like a dog. I can think of obvious things like getting one of them on the ground, covering moving trying to get up etc - but they all seem to be a bit lame if you know what I mean. Anyone train this.....and if so what would they do other than..........not get into this situation...

kind regards

Where was this kicking going on, Wood Green?

When I used to do Feng Sau Kung Fu,
We used do a drill against multiple attackers from the ground.

Essentially you adopt the Lying Bicycle position, hands guarding upper body and legs guarding lower, facing your attackers(s).

You would turn around on the deck, sporadically kicking to the legs, nearest possible target etc of anyone that was attacking you.

This saved me a kicking a few times when I was a kid, but only against three maximum. I was lucky against them , against more,
you could try the same tactic (I mean anything is better than nothing), but best to try to get back upright as soon as, if that's possible.

This scenario also represents a tough one from a moral POV as well. Most adults would feel uneasy about belting kids, until of course the little *******s jumped you...
