...was reading Baubin2's journal and it mentioned Toro Sugi

Can someone tell me what it is? I've been doing Kuk Sool 5 years and have never heard of it?

Also spelled Doh lah Soogi, or Tora Sooki, maybe. I don't think "toro" is a correct spelling, so maybe that threw you off.

There are four of them, and like the shipsa soogi (sp), we learned them at white belt.

1. step forward, cover, punch, spin, cover, punch, retreat.
2. step forward, cover, chop, spin, cover, chop, retreat.
3. step forward, cover, chop twice with one hand, chop and spin with the other, punch punch, retreat.
4. elbow, elbow and spin, block, downward chop and step, punch, retreat.

I spelled it wrong. Atrociously wrong. I meant dol ah soo gi and sorry for the confusion.

*Walks off muttering expletives about unpronouncable, untranslatable, unspellable Korean*

nah - i've still never heard of these! I wonder if there are other things that get missed in certain schools. Basically everything "Kuk Sool" that we're taught is what is in the manual. Though we do get extras like self defence, grappling, foot and hand drills which kinda sound like the above!

Probably Do Rah Soo Ki - Literally Turning Punches. I think I've just started doing that as part of some other punching drills at my new school. It's not standard curriculum though.
