View Full Version : V stretch on stretch machine

Okay Ive had a mechanical stretch machine for a year now and often from time to time I would stop using it because I didn't see my stretch getting any further.

The store owner of the martial arts store that i went too said that i should stretch on this machine 20-30 minutes every other day which is exactly what i did but after about 15 minutes It felt like torture and i just wanted to stop the stretch. I thought stretching was suppose to feel good and not like how i was feeling. I think the v stretch is a more serious stretch though that if you want a full spit within a short period of time which to me about 2-4 months im going to have to get used to the pain.

I also do other stretches that I learned in my previous martial art school so the v stretch isn't the only thing i do.

Im thinking that either im doing the stretch for way to many minutes or im pushing my legs further than its limits which gives me that torture like feeling.

Any replies will be much appreciated

Sounds like a simple case of too far too soon.

Go to "mild discomfort" not pain!

I have found that stretching 3 times and holding the stretch for 30 seeconds 5 times a day works well.

I use a machine...
When I started on it I would go out to my discomfort range and hold the stretch for 30 seconds, then back off a bit and stretch out over my legs and center for 30 seconds each.... and repeat. I have noticed a large improvement in my stretching since

Have any of you stretched for 20mins or longer?
