What is Shinobi Style?
Is that part of Bujinkan, Genbukan, Jinenkan?
Possibly a psduo-ninja art like Ninjukai?
or is that just one of the hundred fake American Ninjitsus like Tew Ryu?

What is the history of this art? Sounds like an American Ninjutsu (Combination of Karate, Jujutsu,Aikido and Various Weapons Arts). If it is not one of the xxxxkans then it isn't a "True" Ninja Art. But the shadow warrior it kinda cool. Can you tell me more about your techniques, where you train etc.?

Okay, two things. First of all, I wanted to point out that in the hundreds of various "ninjitsu" organizations I've seen and read about over the years, I wouldn't say any of them included any aikido. Most of the instructors of these "ultra-super-ninjer-ranger-warrior" classes would never have the patience or skill to develop significant aikido abilities. Secondly, and this comes after I was just involved in a rather large discussion on the topic over at MartialTalk.com, ninja were not historically assassins! Why this lie continues to be perpetuated throughout the Internet and beyond is so frustrating. Ninja did not historically wear black, they rarely, if ever, were hired for assassinations, and their main focus was not the ability to stealth around in the dark. Okay, time to move on now. :D

NO!! We must not move on! We must continue to bring this subject to the fore and ensure that the truth is known!!! We cannot let this misrepresentation continue!!!
Oh, excuse me, I thought we were discussing whether or not beer was the ultimate single food.... <quietly walks away>
By the way, less than 3 weeks until the Tai Kai.

On a serious note, Noryoku-Kage, can you give us any links to "shinobi style"? Who teaches it? How did you get involved with it? What are your teacher's credentials? How long have you been training? Where can I go where it's dark 15-16 hours a day (and not so freaking cold)? Without any verifiable information about your art, no one will take you seriously.

Its my secret Ninja sleeping techniques. I stealth around in my bed and you cannot see me because the blankets cover me up. I would tell you more but I have to go assassinate someone now.

here the little story about the shinobi
History:
Long before Hiteh's Night, the ancinet empire of Aurim ruled most of
Taladas. Though its culture differed from that of far-away Ansalon, much of its government was similar to the feudal system, with the various noble families known as the Samurai. The Taguchi Family had long held its position as a valuble Family in service to the Emerald Throne through its sophisticated intelligence system, a system that operated openly for 400 years before the War of Taguchi's Honor, sometime around 650 PC. The defeated Taguchi Family, and their allies, were defeated. The leaders of the Taguchi family and the other rebellious lords were executed, with those of the Tagughi line given the worst punishment in the Empire: Death unto the Third Generation. The Taguchi lands were seized and divided among the Emperor's staunchest supporters, with the family being exiled from the Samurai caste and forced to become Eta, the lowest class among the Empire's citizens. Their secret agents, the Shinobi, were also ordered to surrender themselves and all their secrets to the Emperor's forces, but only a handful came forward or were captured. The rest melted into the background and became lost to history.
But the Shinobi survived. Their secret arts and remaining allies in the other families protected them until they merged with the shadows of the underworld and disappeared. Through oral history, recruitment and clan isolation, the Shinobi continued as they had before, with a new emphasis on the warrior arts to defend their obscurity and commit assassinations, a profitable business. Their knowledge of Illusions and the myth of their terrible wrath and skill also helped their survival. They continued to exist in their covert world, and always held a special hatred for the Emrald Throne.

Okay, sounds like someone is taking the RPG as real life....

Yes... In fact, this has to be something written for a game and mistaken for actual history. None of it coincides with actual Japanese history, obviously. Kage, where is it that you got this information. I think you mistook a game history for real-life history.

i hate replyign to such nonsense, but, i think that the basis of why most think that the ninja was a assassin is due to those in power manipulating the propaganda. now i do find much information saying that the ninja where assassins as well, but most seems to be utter crap. now there is some truth to the shinobi thing. all governments have somethign of the sorts. i can even remmber my history books in school telling me such things. i do belive it is possible that some ninja took on such roles and actions, but as with all thigns history is written by the victors or those that remain in power. tell me, if you where a lord in ancient japan, and were attacked by a group of peasents who all happen to know a certin martial art, wouldnt you label them as black sheep? through out history many thigns have transpired due to man and his greed, look at the king james bible for instance.....
