Hi...
This is my first thread...

I think I should appologise for the spelling and the grammar, but I´m from germany and my english is not the best...
maybe I should mention that I have not been online untill the last week, so my skills in searching the web are´t good. Because of that I might ask questions that seem to be kinda unreflected. Please help me out and just tell me where to search for the answers on my own...

So my first question:
I´d like my girlfrind to do some self-defence stuff, but the only MA she is interrested in would be Capoaira... This is o.k. but is there any MA which has a similar rhythm to Capoaira but maybe has more streetfighting character?

Ushy, it would probably be best to tell us what arts are available in your area. There is no point in us recommending an art to you that you do not have access to.

Let us know how you go.

It´s a big city, a lot of things are available, my problem is that I don´t realy have experiance with this sort of MA, my favorites are more the "hard" stiles... I think it´s better to search for special stiles in Hamburg, because it might be hard to check every stile that is available and unfamiliar to me...
We´ve got lots of Gung fu , W(V)ing Ch(T)sun lots of PHM, Boxing in all variations Grappling stiles etc. even Silat and Kalari Payat... of course Capoaira...

What means: "Let us know how you go."?
don´t know that phrase...

The Kalari Payat you mentioned would be of interest to her. It has the look and feel of early Shaolin systems, with some interesting weapons work to boot. I don't see Capoeira as being good for her personal self defence.

She should really be looking at the grappling and the Wing chun as first choice though.

"Let us know how you go" means come back to us after she has decided, and let us know how she is getting on.
