There's a problem in breakout in the higher levels, where the ball goes through the blocks. Often, the next time round it hits the block, so that's OK, but sometimes the ball keeps on going through the block even it you hit it through the block 20 times. When you drop the ball, if you have one to spare, the problem fixes itself.

I know just enough about programming to to it's pretty difficult, so if someone from MAP wrote the game, it would be nice if they could try and fix it, but don't spend too much time on it. Otherwise, I'll just keep venting my steam on Andy's rant column.:D

Never got far in the game :( so have never seen the problem. I'm afraid we never wrote the program but we will have a look anyway. :D

Gonna make it do collision detection more often, or slow down the ball's max speed?

It did that to me too, but I figured since I had the high score anyway I would just let meself loose. :D

Unlike you Chris, I don't have the top score so I don't have that luxury :woo: :D.

Slow down the ball's speed . . . now I wouldn't object to that :D

But then it'll take a lot longer to beat the top score, because people will only lose out of boredom

Cain, I had my high score on just one ball....then I lost it and the other balls were going so fast that they went through the blocks.

I had the same issue a while back, but we don't have the source code for the game. I figured most of the site users were as bad as Yoda in the arcade so wouldn't affect them ;)

I'll see if there is a new version available that fixes the problem. Might mean resetting all the high scores for breakout though.
