[Davey Bones]

Tested last night. There were four of us, two testing for purple, two testing for white`(yes, in my style, you have to earn your white sash).

Sifu is really cracking down on the testing requirements now. We're being required to know a lot of the Chinese terms, especially for our forms. We're also doing a lot of physical stuff most schools in my experience don't do, like holding a horse stance while the person before me tested.. I have no idea how long I stood there. My legs are killing me.

I managed to get through the test with only a few minor mishaps, lol. I need to work on my confidence, but as you can see in my sig, I got my purple sash :)

Now comes the fun stuff... lots of time spent on grappling :D

And in regards to the mishaps, remember that every day after the test is another day that you prove you deserve the rank. Thats when you get the chance to really iron out any flubs.

What kind of Chinese are you having to learn? Do you guys have to learn the characters or just the verbal?

We have to start learing the names of the forms inChinese as well as the technique names. The few of us who are seriously hardcore have it a bit worse than the average bear, lol. Fortunately we don't have to learn the script, just the verbal.

And I should be getting the purple around my waist next week; we don't have any of the good ones in stock, lol. And I hate the flismy faux silk I had for orange!

Finally got the sash last night. Nice heavy cotton, not cheap polyester, lol. YAY!
