After finding these gathering dust while moving I decided to pull them out while I'm waiting for things to load (man i hate dial-up).

Now I'm bored and wondered if anyone can make these really, really one-dimensional pieces of equipment interesting.

Or anyone got any training ideas other than laboriously grip grip grip

Any Ideas??

No, you're really going to have to spell it out to me. Like you grap the ends and squeeze really hard?

Is it for those REALLY tought nuts. You know the one that you just can't seam to get out of its shell. You go away for two weeks and work out using these things and then when you get back you know that nuts gonna pay.

Whoops noticed I must have deleted part of that message.

Ruddy sensitive touchpad!

Read again

or alternatively:

Anyone have any interesting training tips for them rather than grip, grip , grip....hold.....grip???

Not exactly.
The loop at the end has a rope strung thru it. You attache one end to the grips, the other end to a tall building, then you jump off.

If your grip is strong, you don't die! :D

Oh I see! you attach the end to something and tug it? couldn't you train your grip more easily by squeezing a ball of paper?

Someone once told me it doesnt matter how much resistance you get, if you make your muscles do the work they will grow. It came from a friend of mine who had broken his arm when a lorry shutter fell on it (have you called claims direct recently) and after it had healed he re strengthened his arm not using weight but an empty tomatoe sauce bottle. He said it wasnt the weight that mattered it was the fact that he was putting pressure on his arm.

Is it the same thing with the hand grips, couldn't you use anything?

Not on a public forum you couldn't! :D

naw, it's the resistance that matters. Maybe a solid object has the most resistance to offer. i don't know.

Notice the spring mechanism on the top providing resistence meaning you have to constantly work to provide the grip to close the mechanism.

Hold on to your hats' and I'll put pictures off it working.

I'm actually shocked you've never seen these though!!!

Any of you pups remember Ms Wagner as 'The Bionic Woman'?

The opening sequence had her bursting tennis balls with her Bionic grip!

Made my eyes weep something fierce it did!

Not a woman I would want anywhere near my own personal balls.

Well if she could grip other things with other parts of her body then you could get her to...

[ RADIO EDIT ]

... which wouldn't be too bad!

try turning it upside down so you hit that index finger!

Squeeze, count to 10 release and repeat. Squeeze, count to 10 and SLOWLY taking a five count to release. Turn it upside down and repeat.

do 5 grips regular and 5 more upside down style.keep switching back and forth and go as fast as you can.go as fast as you can while switching the grip style as well.switch hands evry 20 or so grips or when you feel too fatigued to grip anymore.
going as fast as you can builds more endurance based strength than going slow.spinning the style from regular to upside down as fast as possible each time builds eye hand coordination, similiar to a quick draw cowboy gunfighter.

Hey I got one of those!

They are fantastic, you can also try keeping them squezzed and try rotating your wrist for that extra effect ;)

Before I used to punch with them squeezing just b'fore impact but sometimes they used to fly off my hands and cause a commotion around the house :o

I got a plastic grip instead with rings around it, not good if it's sweaty though...
