Basically shadow box in front of a mirror more to see your own faults.

But I would simply say, spar spar spar. Getting hit in the face for a newbie is a GOOD thing. :D:DSoon your body will get used to having your hands up, as a relfex action to protect your face.

Hi mate
Hope you are enjoying your Kb training.
this is what i would do as a trainer/pad holder.
I have these focus pads that are a focus mitt and a boxing glove in one.
I call out the combos and occasionally throw a jab or hook or something back(make your hands return fast you see!).

For more experienced figthers, with the mitts i give them a good old hiding :P

Does your trainer take you on the pads?
Well it will all come in time.
What grade are you in TKD? do you live in the UK?
If you do feel free to PM me.
Im originally from a wado background so i can relate to you.

Cool to see another kickboxer on the site.

My advice: Shadowboxing is great to see how you're boxing skills are.
Sparring is almost mandatory to get ready for competition
without actually competing.

Keep your hands up!! Defense is very important.
YOU need to be delivering the punches/kicks - not being
on the receiving end.
Work on combinations.
Speed of a punch is ok, but the key is the power
(it's better to get fewer powerful punches in, rather
than a flurry of punches, otherwise you will get tired)

Hope this helps

yupp my trainer uses mitts pads,, but the mitts are usually hold by students like me,, if i got paired with advance students, they always give random shots after i do combinations.
im in red belt in tkd, i live in austrlia...
last time i spar with a french guy which i suspect he does savate,, he throwed a lot of kicks,, but he got a good cover,, but then when i tried to throw kicks,, he always got my head,,where do you put your hand while doing kicks??do u drop it down??
