Sadly the pix are genuine.
I think any grown man who finds that attractive i.e. a woman with the body of a 9 year old girl - has some serious "issues" to address.

How awful...
I have wanted to take off weight and have lost a fair bit in my time but thankfully never to that extent. How an earth do they find the energy to cope with a hectic schedule like fashion shows? No wonder young girls think anorexia is the way forward to looking beautiful. I hope these girls have been helped since, do you know any more about them Yoda?

I agree, that is quite gross, and yes, those pics are real. I have seen people in real life that are like that.

I Think its probably one of the most sick, degrading ways to treat a woman...

Thing is, if the media keeps showing this and these women keep getting paid the big bucks, young girls are going to see this as the ideal. Even not so young girls. They see the designer clothes, the photographers, the good looking male models hanging on their arms, the places and money. Personally, I prefer my women to look REAL. Curves and all. I don't want to be afraid she'll snap like a twig if I hug her (or anything else for that matter).
These women in the pictures have serious emotional; issues to resolve, while they still have the time on this earth to resolve them.
Can anyone say "cadaver"?

I agree Korohana. You don't know how many young girls I see starving themselves saying they are fat when they aren't even 100 lbs. It is because the media makes it seem like if they are not like the girl on the magazine cover that they have a weight issue.

The even sadder part is the fact that there are many young girls who are growing up believing they have to look like that. Believing that is what beautiful is, and they go to any lengths to achieve it. My fiance was working at a banquet with some young girls, and after supper was served, they all got to eat. These girls all took huge plates, scarfed it down then went straight to the bathroom. She went in to check it out and sure enough they were in there puking it up. Then they came out to try and eat some more. Sad, sad, sad.

My wife used to have that problem. I have seen pictures of her in her teens, and she was thin. Not like the girls in those pics, but thinner than she was when I met her. After we met, she started doing it again, thinking it would make her more attractive to me. Of course, she didn't tell me, but I found out. Took almost a year to convince her that I found her downright sexy when she wasn't so dang skinny. She had a hard time believing it because the media and advertising show her otherwise. It is a serious problem affecting young and old alike, and not just women, but men suffer from it too. My opinion is it starts with low self-esteem, which usually starts with the parents saying the wrong things. Either out of misguided well intentions (daughter has a little extra weight, Dad says "getting fat aren't we?") or plain spite, hatefulness etc ("Why do you have to eat so much you fat pig"). Parents like Yoda and myself (reading some of your other posts, I expect you and I have similiar parenting methods and ideals) are disgusted that anyone could say these things to a child. And then, wonder why they have low self-esteem. As in most things, education is the key. And less reliance on advertising execs and the media to tell us what is beautiful and acceptable and time for us to decide for ourselves.

Women in general are almost always unhappy with their bodies..
but with this whole "fat acceptance" issue emerging... it may change the media's portrayal of what a healthy physique is.
We seriously do have an obesity issue here in the States.... I have 2 teenagers and a majority of their friends are a bit overweight. As a parent, and a health conscious individual.... I have to watch how I say things to my daughter when I've found she has gained a few. After she stopped ma training the pounds emerged. I managed to convince her to come to my classes and workout (for the fun of it)... introduced her to protein bars and shakes... explained how to read labels and choose foods that taste good and are also healthy. I just explained that she was eating poorly and yes, putting on a little weight. Worse thing she would do is eat in bed in front of tv before bedtime.....ARGH!!
There is a way to communicate to young people (especially girls) the importance of exercise and healthy eating without pushing them over the edge into having an eating disorder.
Thanks to J LO big bodacious butts are bootyful (beautiful( ... now women are having butt implants!!! go figure!

hmm... rather disturbing images, wouldn't care to meet those girls in person. I'm just glad I don't know anyone with those kind of problems. I actually know one girl who is so skinny she gets the tip of many jokes of being anorexic when in reality she eats like a horse! If I have any daughters I'll make sure they don't grow up anywhere close to that!

At school, they spend quite a lot of time lecturing us about healthy body wieght etc, and the dangers of eating disorders, but I've known girls who were dieting from grade 6, nad going on crash diets, convinced that if they only ate at certain times, or certain foods, they would miraculously loose weight. A few days later they would claim that it was a "stupid diet" only to embark on a new one a few weeks later. I know that crash diets are supposedly a thing of the past, but believe me, they're not.
A few girls from school have been hospitalised from anorexia, but it gets hushed up. I know that the girls wouldn't want everyone to know about it, but hushing it up isn't the answer, it needs to be addressed, it is a big problem. The talks they give us don't help, they are not nearly convincing enough to help someone with an eating problem, and most girls just laugh them off, and think they are stupid.
What a lot of the thinner girls don't seem to realise is that when they moan and groan about their weight, they are really damaging the self esteem of bigger people who think "if she's fat, then what am I?". I have a friend who is overweight because she suffered a broken knee which never healed properly, and now tends to dislocate extremely easily, which makes it impossible to do any exercise that puts pressure on her knee. She is very sef-conscious about her figure, although I think that she is beautiful, and skinny girls telling everyone how fat they are don't help. I am fed up with people going on about their weight.
Myself, I have never been on a diet, and just try to eat reasonably healthily, but as much as I want, and do a decent amount of exercise, unlike some people who are convinced that reducing the amount of food they eat is enough, and don't see how getting off their fat baksides could possibly be important.
Anyway, I've rambled on for far too long, and this probably belongs on the rant thread more than this one.

Many of the models and also normal girls start doing drugs because it will slim them down fast. Supermodel Naomi Campbell has (or has had) a serious drug problem because of this.
I think anorexia is the saddest disease in western civilization, half the females I know seem to think they're fat and horrible. Big women are beautiful, but it's a fact that every female human ALWAYS thinks that she's fat and horrible. I blame the &/¤%/#!!§ popstars and models for bringing this hell-plague to insecure western girls, making them stop eating until they look like Ethiopians and get chest and facial surgery they don't need, as well as muscle-bound CK models and Baywatch for shaming boys into lifting weights and eating steroids.
SHAME ON YOU! YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE DOWNFALL OF WESTERN SOCIETY! :woo: :woo: :woo:
I like a bit of meat & something to grab onto!
