Simple question(s).

What are your veiws on acrobatics in martial arts???

Have any of you ever had to use and acrobatics in martial arts?

Have you ever had to use it in a real fight?

Does your school encourage it/teach it???

I will put my veiws after a few more people post.

we have done a little on acrobatics, i'm pretty good, but then i used to do gymnastics, erm.......i think it can be incorporated in2 the fighting like say a simple forward role, can be used for escaping close contact when on the floor , also an axe kick can be added to the role making it an atack.............

Yeah we do a bit of acrobatics now and then, it's mostly for agility reasons though....

Haven't done any in TKD (and probably won't they don't seem to fit in with the TKD style), but am curious about how practical they could be. I would like to try them, but I'm not sure how useful they'd be in a fight.

Although I am only saying that because I can't perform acrobatics!! I'm sure if I could I'd be backflipping all the time! :D

Well, sometimes when sparring with my brother I try to be like jackie chan and start doing flips and I tend to get hit in the air and I land on my head...

There are some occasions where it might come in handy, but only a few.
