Hey folks...well, I've got a nasty fever.
Headaches, spewing...from my mouth and my arse, and just a high temperature.

What methods should I be using to heal quicker, or at least, make myself feel a wee better?

Sorry if I'm a little vague folks.

Your fever is your bodys response to kill off pathogens and the infections they cause - either viral, fungal, bacterial or because of toxins and drugs.

It attempts to raise the bodys temperature in order to kill off and stop the micro-organisms from multiplying. Many of the common infections can be killed off by a fever. Not that it helps you feel better in the short term though.

The fever will also prompt your body to produce more white blood cells. This is your immune system going to work. Your body will produce 'pyrogens' which are basically fever producing substances (chemicals).

Sometimes the invading mico-organism themselves and the toxins they produce can set the bodies thermostat... the hypthalamus section of the brain.

The average adult baseline for body temp. is 98.6 degrees Farrenheit. It doesn't usually stray too much either side without some serious repercussion. Usually once the fever 'breaks' you'll feel better. It's an indication that your body has cooked off all the invading pathogens.

Viral infections are NOT cured or treated by antibiotics. And they can last up from 1-2 weeks. There are really a massive range of things that can cause a fever.

If your fever goes past the 104 degree mark get to a doctor quick!

If it last for seven days or more... get to a doctor.

If the symptoms worsen drastically... again get to a doctor.

All the things such as stiff neck, sore throat, blood in stool, pain with urination, swelling in the legs, repeated vomitting, trouble breathing, severe chest pain or sever headache... GET TO THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!

OK... anyhow - that's it for med school in 200 words or less... lol. :D

I'll let others post on what sort of homeopathic or traditional Chinese medicines they think have an effect on this system.

Sleep, water, hot tea, herbs like echinacea help boost the immune system, but it's best to start them before you're really sick, it might be too late for that now. And eat super healthy right now, lots of greens and good for you soups. Sleep is the most important.

Eat nothing but brown rice, miso soup, and pickled radish. During this time drink nothing but your choice of kombucha tea (mushroom), kukicha tea (twigs and stems), and bancha tea (kukicha + the leaves). Okay, drink some water maybe too.

Don't knock it until you try it.

Wow I feel lazy.
Spent all of yesterday on the couch watching movies...slept in this morning...and I'm resting all today also.
Mind you I feel SO much better than I did yesterday.
Thanks for the advice guys...but yeah, I just reckon I need rest, relaxation...and time will heal it.
