what to do?

me and a mate want to start a martial art and want to do wing tsun or wing chun.

what is the difrence?? and what is the best??

Wing Chun is mostly stuff with the hands. wing tsun im not sure. could be another version of it i guess?

There is no difference, they are the same kung fu style. The reason for the different spelling's is that the words are the approx sounding spelling of the Cantonese name for the style.
Also some Wing Chun Sifu spell there style differently to associate themselves with different Sifu and Associations(i.e Wing Tsun=Leung Ting/Ving Tsun=Late Master Wong Sheung Leung/Ving Tsun=Victor Kan etc.

By all means I would strongly suggest you visit both schools, and find which one suits you, because Wing Chun is a great style to learn and very practical.
