The Phantom Agony CD's great. I really like Epica and with the current run on Scandinavian goth metal bands (Nightwish, Within Temptation et al), I'm hoping they'll make it over here soon for some more gigs - they were really good in London last year, apparently
I'd recommend them to fans of Nightwish and some heavier goth metal bands like earlier Theatre of Tragedy, Sins of Thy Beloved and Therion

I completely agree with out. Simone Simons has an amazing voice, definitely younger than Nightwish's right now (no offense to Nightwish, I love both bands).

I believe the rest you mentioned are Euro bands as well? It seems Americans don't understand the basics of music. Hell, my piano teacher is Russian lol, my MA teacher is Chinese, and 90% of my music is Euro. LOL.

Yeah, those other bands are all European. Americans used to be able to do some pretty good goth metal, but I haven't heard a decent band in that genre come out in years from across the pond. There's just Evanescence and their various soundalikes. There are some great American goth bands like The Last Dance, Bella Morte et al, but precious little decent goth metal. I put this down to 12 year old fans of bands like Stinkin Park and Slipknot saying they're into goth metal :woo:

Evanescence isn't Goth Metal. More like Linkin Park with female vox, lol.

Anyone else reading this???

All of this is amazing music. I'm kinda disappointed with MAP people for not taking the time to examine new things in music.

To reiterate - any of you Nightwish/ Within Temptation/ Lacuna Coil fans out there (and I know you're reading this ;)) should really check Epica out

Right now I am mostly listening to Epica's new album "Consign to Oblivion." If this new job has an upside, it's that it gives me Saturday's free to go shopping :D
Very very cool CD indeed

We can't but I still have it and am listening to it now. My mum doesn't like me listen to it though- she says it is depressing. That + the fact I am already on anti-deppresants(sp) isn't good she says. How depressing- 13 and on anti-depressants(sp)- bloody genetic seratonin imbalance :woo:
