View Full Version : Laptops...
I've been backtracking for the past 1/2 hour looking for the thread that some of you had posted about palm pilots, etc. back couldn't find it. I'm in the market now to replace my pen and diary with something more '2000' and any advice would be welcome.
I'd like something that would allow me to:
* use office programs (Word, XL, etc.)
* manage day to day events
* allow me to keep and update a journal
* allow me to keep and update a contact list database
If you can point me in the direction of the previous forum thread it would be helpful too.
Thanks in advance.

I now use the o2 XDA - it's a combined PDA and mobile phone. Runs Pocket PC 2002 so it has Word, Excel, IE, MSN, Outlook etc etc. VERY cool bit of kit.
It's a branded version of AT&T SX56...
It has 64mb RAM and a 256mb SD Card

Talking of laptops, what do you thing of Apples, they seem great designs, work well, just not massively compatible in the PC world.
I need to buy a couple of laptops for work, maybe wireless network for ease, spend about £ 600/700 on each. Dabs have some good prices from the little research I've done.
ps I should done thins with my old Falcon!

I can definately recommend Dabs as a supplier - we've been using them for about 5 years without issue.
Nice Falcon :D

I know very little about them, just that everyone keeps saying how good the software is and how good they are for image and music editing. There supposed to work more effectively because there software hardware is better matched with its top down design, then bitch about nothings compatitble :D
Bloody Hell, Yoda. That thing looks like it should be on Star Trek! Do you have a site link to it?

So buy one buy one buy one :D
'test drove' the oz version but it doesn't come with the little plastic pointy stick, it's an add on extra. I can get a deal where I pay $750 and $44/month for 24 months for it (includes $44/month free calls). Either that or no plan for $1199.
So buy one buy one buy one
