I can't get into this god-damned website...is there anything I'm doing wrong, like any settings of any kind that could be adjusted? I've emailed these guys and they don't know what's going awry.

Yeah that's it, it won't load. The weird thing is, it's let me in before - tried it ages ago -now when I try to get at it the server just goes dead.

Try it from a web cafe.

If you're like most users, you are using MSIE (Internet Explorer) and should switch to something else, such as the free Firefox. There are not-free browsers like Opera as well.

Internet Explorer and Outlook (all types) are notoriously insecure and are the source of most spyware and adware that users get saddled with.
Does the site use Flash? It might fail to detect that you've got an old version, somewhere on the Macromeida Site there's an update.

As minimal suggestes, if you're using Internet Explorer, try using Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com), which is a free, standard-compliant and a safer program.

Does Mozilla replace Internet Explorer?

It's a more secure browser, and is CSS standards compliant. In non-nerd words, it reads a website's code properly, whereas Internet Explorer has its own weird way of reading it. Additionally, you can add new skins to it, and add plugins.

That's strange, what exactly goes wrong? What does it say in the status bar at the bottom of the screen?

Also, go into a DOS prompt (type 'command' or 'cmd' into the Run program on the start menu) and then type

ping www.viscera-music.com

and post the bit where it says "Reply from 202.89.35.177: bytes .....blah blah', or if it says 'Request timed out'.

Mav - I don't know what exactly goes wrong, it just won't DO anything, the server seems to go 'dead'.

And yes, I have multimedia flash player.

Well what that means is that your PC is perfectly capable of getting a connection to the server, it can 'see' it. And no it's not illegal

Are there any other websites that just go 'dead'?

The website www.viscera-music.com takes you to isn't even Flash, it's just HTML with a flash compenent to see if you have it installed or not, the rest of the page should still load.

I have no idea why it isn't working for you :bang:

Perhaps someone using your computer has twiddled with the security settings or something so you can't see it? Would anyone have the motive

Just to clarify, you've tried it in both IE and Mozilla Firefox?

shotokanwarrior

Nope, no one would have the motive. The only other person in the household who uses the internet is my mother and she's not like that, she believes in being open about things. If she thought I was looking at child porn, she'd say so openly :D

Yup, I've tried it in IE and Mozilla, and no there are no other websites that go 'dead'.
