I was wondering how old the grand master is. I've seen pictures and he looked relativley young but then I realized that he founded the art in the 50's so he had to be at least in his 20's when he founded it. help would be appreciated

I'm not exactly sure how old he is, but it's my understanding that he is in his late 60's.

I don't know either. What I can tell you is that Kuk Sool was founded in 1958. If Kuk Sa Nim was just 18 (for example) that would make him 65 today. He sure does not look that old. He looks to be in excellent health. I'll bet KSW Paul would agree since he just saw him this last weekend.

I found out that his brother In Sun Seo (not to be confused with Chiefmaster In Joo Suh) was 16 when they started teh first dojang in 1958. I'm just not sure which is the older of the two, but I'm pretty certain they're very close in age.

I've heard he's 65, and very nice. If you see him in July, go talk to him, and remember to bring a permanent marker so he can autograph your belt. Seriously, he will :D

We are affialiated with GM In Hyuk Suh's brother, GM In Sun Seo, through the Hanminjok Hapkido Association. He was also a "Chiefmaster" of the Kuk Sool Won (see bio: http://www.kidohae.com/chairman.htm). I attended a seminar of GM In Sun Seo in Montreal (see Journal entry #48) and was blown away by his smoothness, ability, and down to earth attitude. If Kuk Sool Won's GM Suh is anything like his brother... I bet he's a wonderful man and teacher. On the original question, I believe GM In Sun Seo is 63 or 64... so I would think that his brother is in his mid-60s as well.

The times i have met Kuk Sa Nym he has seemed very friendly and shook my hand. A couple of years back after a Norwich tournament he came over to us while we were standing with our instructor and shook all our hands. Considering the amount of people who must bow to him and want to shake his hand on any given day i though this was a great gesture. Also i must say i have met both Master Sun Jin and Master Alex who both came across as genuine people with respect for students..

Also KSN looks nowhere near 68...
