Anyone get this done? Does it work for you? How different is it from chiropractic?

Yes I've had it done. Its a form of massage therapy. Usually very deep muscle release.

I had a neighbor who was a big fan of rolfing. He described it as VERY deep massage to move the muscles and thereby adjust the alignment of the body. Muscles are attached to bones, so if the muscle moves, so does the bone. Hip alignment, for example, can be adjusted by rolfing.
Standing posture can be adjusted. In short, it's supposed to put things back where they're supposed to be.

In Australia we usually Rolf after a big night out. We often rolf up the hallway on the cat and think to ourselves, "I cant remember eating that" :D

AAAAHHHHH! Stop it! Stop it right now! :D Us yanks call that ralphing BTW, and this is a serious discussion, really. I was thinking of getting it done but now you all have ruined it for me  Is rolfing - the extreme deep tissue massage variety- a US only thing?

Kwajman- Does it hurt? Sometimes really deep massages can be agonizing for me, especially around the shoulders and neck. I was hoping it could help me with the stiffness there and also with my low back, as I've thrown it out a few times in the past. But I don't know if I can do it if it hurts too much.

Yes its one of those "it hurts so good things". I also fell asleep almost right after it.
