Please help me with this, as I would like to get some more learned opinions on my training routine than my own.
Daily workout: I usually do my exercises at bedtime.
Currently:
1 or 2 sets of 60 or 70 seiken pushups. (have been like that for quite some time now)
As many situps as I feel like (usually around 300-500) OR 100-200 situps with feet in the air and/or my own experimental situp. (100-200)
And that's it!
I'm also trying to set up a handstand pushup and squat routine, but I don't run or jog, cuz I hate it. (Lazy ******* me)
I almost feel ashamed at training so little compared to some of the guys here. :(
Anyway, do you have any recommendations for any excersises I might add to my programme as well as quantity/scaling? I'm going to look for a full contact kickboxing-like art soon, just to let you know what sort of excersise I need.
Personal Info: 1.84 tall, weighs about 87 kg, strong abs, somewhat strong arms and neck, weak back and legs, a little too much bodyfat and VERY BAD WRISTS AND TROUBLING RIGHT KNEE.
I feel like I'm stuck in a rut, so I would appreciate it very much if anyone could give me some tips. Thank you.
PS: I truly hate gyms and exersise equipment.

how bad are your wrists? There are some other fun exercises but they probably wouldn't be a bad idea if you wrists cannot support your body without pain.

got the prefect fix for you, and you can probably see this one coming ---
Tai Chi!!! I can't grapple without doing these YiQuan wrist and finger stretches..... really repairs the hands and wrists...
here's a little breakdown, sorry if it's long but it'd be much easier to show you than tell you
Stand with feet shoulder width apart with the arms extended straight out all the way from shoulder height.
1. open the fingers flexing them back toward the head as much as you can, now while maintining as much activity (meaning as many increments of movement as you can feasibly think about) close the fingers but only to your middle knuckle.
try to feel each micron of movement, rather than flexing open, flexing close, feel each little bit as much as you can and try to feel the connection in your forearm, then back to your shoulder and in the body as much as possible.
repeat 30 times.
2. Same exercise but this time close all the way to a fist, flex open, flex close...
repeat 30 times
3. make a fist and try to flip your fists up and back toward the head, then flex down... so down, up, down, up.
30 times...
4. rotate both fists outward slowly so you can feel the connection in the forearm keeping your movement in small circles.
5. now rotate inward slowly...
30 times...
this one has helped me tremendously, sometimes after jamming a finger in class it's completely fine after I do these...
as for your training, you train quite a bit... that's a lot of push ups and situps... and I hate running myself, I haven't gone running in over a year.
The Tai Chi has enabled me to lose all my excess fat and I've trimmed off over 50 lbs this year and continue to gain density and definition without wieghts!
check out the book Yiquan: Warriors of stillness for some great standing meditation exercises that make you sweat without going to the gym...
one thing I would comment on is this: you are diciplined to do those activities every night before bed, that's tough to do. How much training time do you spend each day working your martial curiculum?
I made a commitment to myself this year, because I've always battled weight. I've always tried to exercise traditionally outside of MA and never got permanent results.
This year i determined that I'm a Martial Artist first and a fitness nut second. I started only training MA and not doing any other unrelated exercises save a few pushups and crunches... this has really helped me take the weight off without focussing on it.
hope that helps
Do u strech at all? try and get some cardio in. Try skipping or a bike ride. Its less hard on the knees. I hate running too, it seems to give me very little results for a lot of effort

Well, for stretching I've always been pretty flexible and is still able to do front splits and could work my way to doing them both ways in some four weeks if I felt like it. I've also just started back briding for a minute or two every day. looking to improve times with practice.
My wrists are only a problem when attempting to punch solid objects or very wiry people, as my wrist seems to snap off sometimes on impact.
I like Tai Chi. I will try to look into the exercise if it can help my wrists, otherwise I only do Tai Chi when it's frosty outside.
Thank you very much for your input. Anything else you can advise me?
