Win UGS Goodies and Tickets
Prizes total almost £200!!!
The United Goju Seminar (UGS) team is offering an opportunity to win some fantastic prizes in conjunction with the Birmingham UGS to be held in October.
All you need to do is design a logo, or come up with a concept, for the United Goju Seminar. The logo should try and incorporate the ideals of sharing and unity. You may utilise the history and tradition of Goju Ryu karate i.e Chojun Miyagi, White Crane, Hojo undo, or create a totally unique emblem.
One winner will win a pair of tickets to the Birmingham UGS and the opportunity to train with some of Goju's highest ranking and most experienced karateka. Not only that but the winner will also take home one free pass to all of the 2006 events as well as t-shirts and DVDs for United Goju Seminars up to and including 2006. Second and third place winners will also win free t-shirts and DVDs.
The objective of the UGS is to explore the vastness of Goju karate and to experience the different approaches schools have to their training, as well as to explore complementary or historically associated arts. It also offers an ideal opportunity for people from other styles and arts to gain an insight into Goju's ways and the foundations of all karate styles.
Last years logo focused on the joining of four associations. The overcrossing of the emblems signifying the coming together.

2005's logo used Japanese kanji and tried to break away from showing only a small selection of associations:

The logo from 2004 was perhaps more symbolic but implied that only the associations that the badge represented were involved which is certainly not the case. We're looking for something that can be used for the life of the United Goju Seminars. You can read more about the seminars at www.ugs2004.com and www.ugs2005.com
Entries should be in JPEG or vector format and sent to: dave@ugs2004.com
or
Send your drawings to Terry Brown (pm for address)
To get more information and to view entries please visit www.ugs2005.com/competition (available soon). The winner will be announced in time for the Birmingham UGS.
