Theres only one way to beat 6 people, and thats to hunt them down individually and beat the crap out of them.
This, of course, is a moral decision for yourself to make.

Buy some pepper spray or a Katana and wail on them. Or take up ninjutsu and sneak into their house and defeat them one at a time.
Theres only one way to beat 6 people, and thats to hunt them down individually and beat the crap out of them.
Not that we condone this practise of course, as it's illegal, but... I have done this before when I felt I had no choice and a multiple attack was imminent. I told them that if they did I knew where they lived and would get them each individually. Didn't stop them from giving me the caning I would have got anyway, but they had a fair amount of paranoia for a month before I got them.

If it's gonna happen no matter what then find yourself some kind of equalizer. You'd be better off calling your friends for help than using a weapon but if you do decide to pick something up to swing at them with make sure it's something you could later tell the police you found on the floor (so no swords). On a legal stand point it would put you in a better position because it would look like you didn't plan to use a weapon but one just came to hand while you were being attacked.
Either that or you can call the police, give them the names of the people causing you hassle, go out and let them beat the crap out of you them press charges. They should get a more sever penalty that way.
How old are these people and how old are you? If you're school age then forget everything I just said.

Get some nunchucks or a Katana...you can always say you found it on the floor. Better yet...bring a gun.

inform the police to cover your own back incase the police need to be invoved, take a telescopic baton out with you and when they come for you give them wot for. always aim for the collar bone and kneck area or the knee joint. then claim selfdefense.

If you can get away then do so. If not and you absolutely have to fight then assume you are going to lose and will probably be going to hospital. Real life is very different from the movies - this is why you must try to get away. If you are trapping then be grim and attack the largest preemptively. My sensei used to say 'rub his face in concrete ground' - he meant that you had to make the large one scream and scream. I know somebody who was felled by two men in a mugging and lept up an bit one guys testicals and started shaking his head - he said he felt one of the break. The guy was screaming the other ran off he wanted not to be there, the other guy limped away. My friend was seriously hurt in this encounter and was in hospital for a few days. This is why you have to run if you can or you have to be utterly ruthless to one who they think is powerful to send a message that they a dealing with an animal and they should look for an easier target. But bear in mind that you will most likely get seriously hurt - is it worth it.

Yeah I agree, (If your under 18)
Go to each one of their houses, wait to their parents are gone. When the person comes to the door get inside and beat his ass in his own home.
If you are in serious fear for your life, call the cops. But, it you do not want to do that.....
Set one of their cars on fire. ( I do not condone this) A lil bit of gas on one of the tires would make it go up in flames.
I actually had one of my friends do this before. It gets peoples attention quite quickly.

I would get a gun, but if you don't want to use deadly force. I would go with a nice stungun one jolt with take down a person. And Mostly likely after the first one goes down, the other will run away,

Another Idea taken from the Ninjutsu Forum:
Take a 35mm film tube and fill it with power (make sure it is the type that has the "Keep away from your eyes warning") and throw it in 1 or 2 of thems face. It will cut your situation down to 4 on 1 with I would still run. But at least there are better odds.
Groin Kicks are good as well.
Yes, us Ninjas are dirty, cry about it.

Stupid?
I've used it before, at that time I was using a sandwish bag rather than a film tube (I like the file tube sooooo much better). It works so well. You can temp blind/distract an enemy while you escape (out the door, around a corner etc.). Definitely help me when 'muscle-man" was standing up to me in bar cause I stepped on this foot.

ninjitsu attracts muppets because of all the claims it makes to become an awesomely naughty warrior, and it's ever so special and uniquely japanese. This appeals to vast numbers of people, particularly those in need of a really major ego boost.

I am really surprised with some of the responses in this thread!
"Buy a gun"; "light their car on fire"; "hunt them down on by one"; "use a katana"
Come on now... no matter who you are or what age, the legal implications of any of these things are HUGE!
The best thing that you can do if in this situation again is try to talk your way out of it, if they do come after you, try to get away, or just protect yourself. In a sitution where there is a group of people, or a person with a weapon, you have to realize that you will get hurt, but it's up to you how hurt you will get.

Hi Reddragon,
Real easy to be diplomatic when the 5 people are not coming after you. I have been in this situation. Quick...I will talk at the agressors while they pound me. Oh come on, be sensible.
I still stay set their car on fire.....(Ok this may not be sensible either)
I guess the best way would be to find them one by one and take care of them like that. Better for the fight (if you know one is going to come anyways) to be on your own terms.
Now, I think that is a bit more sensible.

Nowhere did I say to be diplomatic.... just try to talk your way out of it BEFORE it escalates to a pounding.
Quick...I will talk at the agressors while they pound me. Oh come on, be sensible.
Be sensible? By trying to talk your way out of it, you;
1) Give yourself more time to look at your surroundings, and find an escape route;
2) You may actually be able to talk the situation down.
Now if an altercation does start... well then  It's time to bust out and break bones!
Trust me... the police will not take pity on you for getting a can of whoopass opened on you, if they find out that you went after each person 1 by 1. And when they find out that you train in a MA, then it looks even worse.

It takes a skillfull bit of talking to get out of certain situations and likewise to recognise if you can or not. I don't think this is necesarily something you can learn through martial arts, although it does help you.
We could have a thread about talking are way out of things, but this thread is about taking on muliple opponents, ie the talking has failed!

Hi Reddragon,
Like I said, I have been in the situation before. Have you ever been in a real fight with six guys? Not spar....A real fight, a "street fight"??
(Reddragon)
Now if an altercation does start... well then It's time to bust out and break bones!
With six guys?? Everybody was Kung Fu fighting right?? Kicks fast as lightning? If he could break bones and whip six guys then i doubt he would be posting questions on what to do.
Like I said, i have been in this situation before. You see, there is one difference between what happened to me and what has happend to the guy who posted the question. I was jumped and I had no place to go and no advance warning.
On the other hand, he knows it is coming. He can only delay it by running. I also think that if he confronts them as a group and tries to be diplomatic then he is going to get pounded. If he talks to them one by one then he is probably going to get a better chance of talking out the problem. Maybe two or three will agree not to persue him if he makes things right. Maybe all of them will give up. Maybe none will. We just do not know these things. So, with what he has posted, I think he has only two options.
Call the cops and tell them whats going on and see what they can do for him.
Or
Go after them one by one. IF the cops cant do anything....and the thugs will not be talked into leaving him alone, and he knows the fight is coming, it is still better for it to be on his terms then on theirs. And of course, after he (if he) beats up just two of them maybe the rest will leave him be. If he gets beat up by one of the guys, then maybe the other 4 or 5 will see no reason to pound him anymore.
If he did not know these guys I would agree with you 150% percent. But seems to me he knows these guys. So if he knows them chances are he will see them again. And if he runs everytime he sees them it is going to make him look foolish around his other friends and be poor for self esteem.
I am all for turning down a fight and running. But not everytime I see the same bunch. And I doubt he would want to either.

Wonder if challenging one of them to a one on one fight would help, would they back down in front of their mates!?
Talking to just one on their own might work, then they might say to the other he's actually ok etc
Options Talk - Run - Fight
Not gonna be many jabs in the fight, you'll have to imagine a few of their heads like focus mits.

 Actually, yes I have been in this type of situation before.
I was in an altercation that involved 5 guys. I managed to get 2 of them to back down by talking it down, and the other three, well it got ugly. I held my own, but did not come out of it unscathed. To this day, there is one guy who still everytime that I see him will start to lip off, and will want to fight, but now he knows better, I am just waiting for the day that he comes back for another piece. I am much further into my training, and more confident in my multiple attacker skills because we practice circle sparring in class with up to 4 people coming in at once. It allows you to deal with multiple attacks, but also it makes you realize that in any multi-person attack, you will get hit.
To lay this to rest, my advice for Sambo Master would be to comtinue training hard, and ask your instructor to practice circle sparring and ground fighting, that way you will gain some confidence and experience.:)

First of all, what wrong with my powder idea?
It will distract and its legal.
Second, why am I a muppet, obviously giving Ninpo a bad name?
Third, you can always get a small knife and "STAB THEM IN THE EYE!" Its take a man to stab someone. It take a really screwed up man to stab someone in the face. Yes I am that scrwed up man.
j/k I don't condone stabbing people.

first one gets his knee broken, second gets elbow in da mouth, third low kick and believe me the rest will run
Easier said than done.
I'd probably go with hunting them down one by one and giving one guy a severe beating... waiting a while, then getting another one to make the other ***** themselves. Then I'd probably stop there and let the others live in constant fear, but if I ever saw the chance to beat another one I'd take it.
Come to think of it, I have had a group of people after me after I got into fights with a couple of other people one on one. I kept running though, 'cause I knew if I beat them up one by one they'd get even more people after me and if I took the beating, I'd be eating shoes of a lot of very angry macedonians and be lucky to come out alive.
Macedonians? Just ask them what part of Greece they're from and wait for the fireworks :D

if 2 attack 1 and they have coordinated their attack what chance do you have......... Just think about a good rugby tackle to take you down and then what do you do.
talking about weapons, if you are attcked by a group then surely using a weapon would count as reasonable force as the odds are so stacked against you....on the other hand what a desperate situation to get yourself into....
Keeping yourself within a group where possible could help - although i know this could be impractical. It increases your strength and of course there is safety in numbers

If you fight, bring a homemade bomb. A flare gun would also work. Or rig if you know where this is going to happen, plant some bats in hidden locations. Bring a wire for strangulations. Also bite chunks out of people if you have to. There is no limit to how rabid you will have to act. This might seem Xtreme, but you do what you gotta.

*Obiviously, you don't want them circling you, and keep them in front of you.
*Keep alert like Yoda said keep an eye on the exits.
*Also, keep aware of your surroundings look for things that could be used as a weapon, because you never know where they'll come from. If they surprise you with weapons, you'll already know where to locate the nearest weapon to pick up. **If you have no option that is, if you can't runaway. If you can't run away, grab something, and swing your out, then run.
*Use instinct, if you feel threaten DO NOT HEISTATE to take the defensive.
(Remember, you don't know where the attack is coming from so keep your chin close to you neck to guard against chokes from behind.)
*Also, if you wear belts, wear one all the time. It comes in handy if one pulls a knife, if two.....run..... **Though, I'm not advising you to fight even one who has a knife, but if you have to.
