Hapkido In Manchester

Hi all

Currently do ITF TKD but feel that Hapkido would allow me to focus more on self defense etc

Does anyone know if there are any schools in manchester or around and would it be a prob for me to do both TKD and HKD

I practice ITF TKD as well and am looking at expanding my MA horizons slightly.

I am looking into HKD, but there don't seem to be too many clubs around. I'm in the Notts/Derbys area.

I'm not sure how convenient they would be for you, my mental geography doesn't stretch too far into that part of the world.

I was supposed to be going up to Nottingham this weekend to train with them as our association's GM is over this week & is doing some seminars for them, but my lift fell through. My own group is loosely associated with the EHA, my instructor is good friends with Master Sam Plumb.

Unfortunately, hapkido still seems to still be in it's infancy in this country, you can probably count all the offically recognised HKD instructors on one pair of hands at the moment.

I've also emailed an instructor from Nottingham.

Does anyone know a a club in Mansfield? I'm fairly sure I saw something there a while ago in the Leisure Centre.

Like you say, the art is quite small in the UK it the minute.

Never found anywhere in Manchester, was in touch with an instructor down in London who gave directed me to the same website. Area bit far away for me.
Really frustrating that i cant find anywhere, I've asked everwhere. Guess Hapkido just dosent happen in Manchester:(
