I might take up staff,bo,jo, or handbo, they all seem useful I just don't have time.

Make time! its really worth it, remember a dragon pole is 6 foot 9 nches long, good way to keep your enemy at bay, as soon as hes within 6 foot, smack him! I brought a rather kik ass telescopic pole made of some metal alloy its about as long as a combat stik an stretches to two foot six inches

I *really* want to start Jo Staff training, but I need to practice unarmed for a long time before moving that far on :)

Damn right!!
It would be pretty hard for me NOT to teach weapons from day one - after all, I do teach an weapon-based martial art. I can imagine it now........

Yep - I'd have a similar problem.

hmm...
Should I be booking a trip to the UK to wack you with my stick?
I teach weapons from day 1 to anyone that wants to learn them. No problems, probably easier to teach weapons first in some ways...
But when I got a class called "Weaponry" its hard not to involve a weapon.
