I do love this film, except the dialoque. It seems all frozen and hypercorrect. The fight scenes, however, rule...

I'm more of a Bruce Lee film man myself, so I can't say I was very thrilled at the fight scenes. (I always wondered why they didn't just fly away from their enemy)
Why this film was awarded an oscar is beyond me.

Hero is a very beautiful film though, the fight scenes are spectacular.

Ok, and the flying bits. They sucked a little.

Yeah, it is good. Must have seen it 10 times by now. But I think the dialogue was a bit strained and not very idiomatic english.

i think in a way it is supposed to be strained due to the relationships involved i notice a big difference watching the chinese and english versions although it is a great movie could have done with less flying.

Nah,
beautiful peice of filmwork. Yeah it's bollox in terms of MA, but it's entertaining, with a good story, romance and action.

At long last a Chinese film with the budget it needs, let's see more please.

Well, is it entirely necessary for the guy carrying the water who slips to say 'slipped' in a very recieved-pronunciation, standard-english way? Would he in reality have said something closer to 'bugger'?

Jesus, guys, what's your beef? Do you get upset because Superman flies? Do you get pissed off because Spiderman can climb across ceilings?

CTHD was a Wuxia movie - the lands of legends and superheroes. It's a Chinese superhero movie and you're all complaining that they have super powers?

WTF!?

Yeah I Agree Mo.
My Bro and Dad are the same. They don't have problem with spider-man, but when they saw this, they would'nt shut up about how unbelievable it is. They are the same with Ads and stuff too, nitpicking everything. "That would'nt happen. Thats BS." Damnit guys, it's not real.

Personally I think it was a great movie, a bit Chinese fantasy. Good to have something new and modern in that genre too.

But I can't wait for Hero, damn that looks sweeet. I've started downloading it, up to about 200 of 700 Mb. From what I have already, It look awsome. Now I just need to get back to learning more Manderin -No subtitles.

I hope it's released here soon.

Ok, I know, and I know that watching a film I could live without 10 times over is not normal behaviour... I don't do things by halves, me...

personally i was only commenting on the affect all the flying has on the fight scenes takes a bit away from them. and yes if the same thing happens in spiderman then it would look weird too

True. The bit where Jade fox flies away over the wall shouting 'It's not over yet, Li mubai' hee hee hee :D ...

Who am I?

The only thing that I didn't like was that Li Mu bai dies at the end.

God point Ving, you cant complain about the flying, to quote Ang Lee from an interview I read who directed the film

"In my country superheroes can fly too."

What are you talking about? Did you watch it with the voice-overs or with the words at the bottom of the screen? I watched it with the words at the bottom of the screen. (The English version sucks because the voices are all wrong.) I didn't think anything was wrong with the dialogue. There was lots of emotion all throughout the movie! Gee whiz, it was so obvious that the characters were all in love!

And just to set the record straight, CTHD is in the list of all-time top ten best movies. There's nothing wrong with this movie. Nothing! Just thinking of Yo Yo Ma's cello and drums gives me chills. It was for this movie that jumbo TVs with surround sound were invented.
