I wonder the same thing about 5 days ago. I prefer MSN. I used to have ICQ.... about 3 years ago. Now I can't stand it. MSN nice and simple, and practical :D. For some reason I have a kind of personal hatred towards AOL. I don't really know why. It might be something from my PC Technition days... the browser/connection caused nothing but problems, and failed to work. Guess thats it. Kinda like Real player.... It just takes over. I'm suprised it's not in Symantec's virus library. Ah there's another one, Norton System Works. Yep, they are my top three apps for insane frustration. Ok, rambling now, get back on topic...

I use Trillian for chat http://www.trillian.cc/trillian/index.html No MSN, or AOL progs for me, but I use Yahoo Messenger as well.

AOL is the bane of my existence!

I do tech support too, so know exactly where Ving Tsun is coming from. AOL's software is purely designed to make every IT technicans work a living breathing hell on earth!! And not only that, nearly every email I get with stuff like, "My wife threw my laptop in the pool, now it won't work, whats wrong with it!" in it, comes from an AOL account..... ARGHH!!!!!

I don't have an AOL "account" I connect via cable so I'm on 24/7 and no need for an ISP .... but my kids NEED AIM since it seems to be the most popular since you can use it with any ISP not just AOL ... Yahoo msgr. played havoc with my computer and... MSN (I tr to disassociate myself as much as I can from MS... just a personal vendetta :woo: )

LOL Here's an idea. Email Microsoft support with a linux problem. LOL, I've gotta try that one. Haha.

And before anyones asks, yes, occassionally. But Windows most of the time. The screen on my Linux box is 14", and I can't stand it.

VT, why not get a monitor switching box? You can use your linux box on your regular monitor then.

Yeah i've been thinking about it for a while. I even made a few calls about it a few months ago. I needed to order one in and just couldn't be bothered. I'll make do for now. Well, untill it drives me blind anyway :D
