Why do they bother? The first movie is widely regarded to be the worst martial arts film ever. (as is often the case with films based on computer games. Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat etc.)

The first film was nothng like the game until the last part. Mortal Kombat was closer to the game. The big part of the games were the special moves, so to hardly put any into the film meant a lot of dissapointed fans (not counting the rubbish script).
