Hi MDN...

Ken's the man for the Irish stick, check this list for previous discussions on the subject.

The Irish were also well known for their hand & foot fighting and collar and elbow wrestling. From memory I believe the word 'scuffle' comes from Irish fighters called 'Scufflers' who liked to get you down & kick you on the ground :eek:

I guess this method has survived, in the form of the skinhead "boot party"... :eek:
