Well, then I'd just whip out the dual SMGs lol. BTW, the demo footage from the 9 minute E3 demo is going to be on the September issue of the US OXM disc in DVD quality. I have a subscription and will probably be getting it in the next couple days... (waits anxiously)

I am playing through Halo 1 for PC right now. To be honest the graphics are dated, but the game is really a lot of fun. I like being able to use all the enemy weapons and jump into turrets, trucks and what not. The graphics can look just as good as on the X-box, but not without a very high end graphics card and a huge performance hit ( I know people running a Pentium 4 3Ghz who get considerable slowdown with every option on).

The multiplayer is lacking compared with games like UT 2003 ( http://www.unrealtournament2003.com ), but the single player has got it goin on. The vehicles help bring a new aspect to gameplay. The only downside is having trouble finding the last objective on a mission where the map is just huge. I would like to see a bit more compass style navigation points (I know there were some, but not enough).

The sound seems to be on par with the rest of the games out there. It's nothing special as most PC games come with surround sound now, but by no means did the sound engineers drop the ball. With all the enemy AI running around this is defintley a game in which you want to utulize that option.

The AI is above average. When you are clearly dominating the situation they will run and hide, but every once and a while you get a bunch of small units trying to rush you (which is fairly easy to take out). The larger units can sometimes be tricky, especially when dodging grenades and other projectile. The most impressive aspect was perhaps their ability to work as a team to flush you out. Weaker units are sent first which take the brunt of your fire, while big slow bruisers travel behind.

Of Note: I am looking forward to seeing if the PC port for Halo 2 addresses any of these concerns. It's a shame that Microsoft owns bungie like a pitbull in a c0ck fight. I think a lot of the graphics problems were seeded by microsoft buying the rights out and making it exclusivley for the x-box originally. If the company stayed independent I think we would have seen a lot more polish. Due to the x-box's deadlines we get what is now Halo. Microsoft Game Studio's mantra is also very apparent; that being "The average user is an idiot". If you want proof of this look at the lack of configurability in the audio, video, and control settings. Even the INI file is quite untouchable.

Overall I give this game :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: out of a possible 5 kicks to the head. Defintley worth your money, but just falling short on one to many aspects to get my covated "This game kept me away from women" award.

i didnt much like the pc version of halo. the game lacked the polish of the xbox version. it had lag with even the best connections, needs an amazing graphics card to look good,and ive never gotten used to mouse look.

halo 2 is definitely gonna be online on Xbox live, if you ever needed a reason to get broadband this game is it! apparently you might also be able to play with 4 people per Xbox online so you could get team games going with one bunch of mates against another :cool:

Has anyone pre-ordered the Limited Edition Version of Halo 2 yet?

I know it'll be good but I don't know if I want to spend an extra $5 for the game. Yeah, I know sounds cheap. Still, if I could get it used it'd be better since then my 10% off used games discount would kick in :D.
So, what does the LE Halo 2 have in it? So far I can't find a site that tells all what it has in it. Does anyone know? And do you get anything free with it when you pre-order it?

It has a ton of extra features. Bonus DVD disc I believe, I can't remember the specifics, sorry, but there were a bunch of great features named, I can remember that much.
