Are there any bad side effects to breaking your nose repeatedly, like nasal talking, running nose, apart from the looks?

Well - I've done mine a few times - a few too many times. The last time saw it out of line by about an inch! Scary! I knocked it back into a kinda straight alignment myself about 10min later - that hurt!
I didn't realise it at the time but I also had a hairline fracture from the bridge of my nose and across my cheekbone - the X-ray also revealed that the left side of my nasal bone looked like an egg that someone had hit with a spoon (The Doc's words) - too many fractures to count ((Gulp)). The Doc reackons that if I do it that badly again it'll crack my cheekbone & my eye may well drop down behind my cheek - (((puke))).
These days it gives me no real trouble - it bleeds quite a bit - usually the day after hard sparring. I can be sat there doing nothing and WOOSH!

Major effect of a nose break can be snoring. If you have a partner, this can be a big problem. It got so bad, after having broken it 7 times, that I was forced to go to surgery for it, as I was waking myself up, as well as the neighbours.
I had a Ceptoplasty, wich involves removing a slice of cartilidge from the middle of the filtrum, and splicing the two peices straight. While he was in there, the Surgeon basically took a red hot needle, and burned nice big airways there, by removing excess issue. The resulting mess was thoroughly stuffed with surgical packing.
Come day of release, the packing was to be removed, and I figured no sweat, it's just a bit of cotton wool. It's kind of surprising to find 7 inches of packing up each nostril, which is dragged out across the raw tissue the surgeon has left behind, while you hold a basin under your chin to catch all the blood. There was a chap across the ward who had just arrived to receive the same operation, and his face had gone white by the time I had finished screaming and swearing at the nurse who removed the packing.
I still snore, but they ain't touching my nose again!
Enough of a side effect for you?
:D
My dad had a similar sort of thing done to his nose.
When my brother was about 5, he accidently headbutted him and broke his nose (he knocked him out cold too, good shot ;)). He had nosebleeds on and off for years, and last year he had a really bad one that put him in hospital. His nose was bleeding for 3 weeks, he lost loads of blood. The treatment for servere nosebleeds is to put a red hot needle up the nose to seal the wound, but they don't give u anesthetic for it. My dad's gone through some crap, but that was the worst thing I've ever seen him go through.
I've told everyone that if I ever get a nosebleed that they can't stop, I'm not going anywhere near a hospital!

Eesh, my nose has only been broke once and that was last month.
I remember it being painful when I was asleep and randomly my arm spazzed upwards and slapped my nose, (after it was already broke), that hurt a fair bit.
That, however, sounds a tad worse.
