This variation of Zhan Zhuang is also called empty force. A popular master in this art is Paul Dong. I am providing a very interesting link for you to read:

Of course there will be some eager to say that qi does not exist. Let them think that, I want to discuss this issue with more advanced practitioners who have been practising Qigong daily for a minimum of 5 years.

What about those who have been practicing qi gong daily for 5 or more years and have come to the conclusion that it doesnt exist? :)

ha ha! :D

It's hard to start a discussion on qi without calling into question its very existence. Not going to read the article fully as I did not find it interesting at all.

Then, you'll have to wait for your next human life, if you come back at all!

I just spent the weekend with Rich Mooney who is featured in the aforementioned article. Wow, you folks in England and Germany are lucky to have him there now that he has moved to Europe.

If you have the opportunity to take a seminar with him it will open your eyes and give you a lot to think about.

Just be warned that any talk of "Empty Force" in the Internal Martial Arts Section of MAP will invite mocking scrutiny from uninformed people especially from the Moderator. Like, he's already moved your "Lin Kong Jing " thread from the IMA section to Traditional Healing ....

If only people don't reject what they don't understand.

May I suggest you join this forum for any talk on " Lin Kong Jing " instead:

Just because one practices Qigong for 5 years does not mean he was doing it right and progressing steadily. Unfortunately that's the nature of Qigong, progress is silent, and feedback is slow and hard to come by.

It's entirely possible that the 5 yr student was doing it incorrectly, misunderstood the teaching or had a poor teacher.

Like, dude, Thomas Edison failed 2000 times before he found the right substance for the filament of a Incandescent light bulb.

Apart from proper Qigong practise, if you don't practise the correct Dietary regiment, abstain from sex, don't hope to get any Lin Kong Jing real soon

You have to give up what? Sounds like a pretty lousy trade-off to me. But hey, to each his own :) .

Not only that:

Fire qi will build up in your body due to poor diet (as SC says) and POOR AIR QUALITY. As a result you'll have to ejaculate often (water qi from kidney/yuan qi/pre-birth qi) to calm that fire. Then ageing process rapidly occurs through that excessive jing loss and damage to internal organs.

Solution:

1. Eat better

2. Breathe better quality air. Living in London or NY can't be compared to living in here (http://www.skeller.ch/albums/Switzerland/matterhorn.jpg) or there (http://web.bii.a-star.edu.sg/~wangyi/photo/Darjeeling/forest.jpg)

3. Deep abdominal breathing/reverse breathing, and other advanced techniques should be incorporated.

4. Meditation will regulate fire qi.

People are too ignorant and blind to understand Daoist science. Hence Daoism in China decreased at the same rate as stupidity increased (i.e. adopting Western lifestyle).

I have been practising Qigong for several years and during that time have become aware how powerful chi enery is even though I recognise that I am still a beginner.

I think it is important to train with a teacher who understands Qigong as there are many myths out there plus is it very possible to do yourself bodily harm.

I had four years of intensive Qigong teaching which, I believe, gave me sufficient knowledge to continue training on my own. If I become lazy with my Qigong practise I do feel less energised and healthy.

I use my chi energy as a healing tool on myself and others, including the occasional pet. It is to the animals I leave any *proof*. They have no concept of energy, yet appear to be helped.

My twopence worth, for now ;)

Yes superenergy. Lifeforce.

Very. Indeed it releases a lot of garbage including karmic imprints, which are the most difficult to deal with.

Listen: You are not Magneto, and no amount of appealing to tradition will change that.

I don't know what trauma you suffered in this vida loca that caused you to believe you can throw what is, for all intents and purpose, a hadouken, but it's time to stop living in a fantasy world and come back to the physical universe that the rest of us live in.

Full stop.

One good point I see here is that sexual abstinence = less empty force/ki believers in the next generation.

So by all means guys, keep concentrating on doing hadoukens and give up women in general.
